Hello,
My name is Seth. I am currently a student at Full Sail for Computer Animation. I was told about this site by a few of my fellow peers at school and became so attached I joined up to get in on the fun.
Right now my expirence is somewhat limited. Ive been working on digital art and animation as a hobby for several years, but it wasnt until I came to Full Sail that it became a full time thing for me. Ive been at Full Sail about 6 months now, and I enjoy spending many hours of the day with Maya, Zbrush and Photoshop to bring my ideas to life. I plan to go into the industry as a professional once I graduate.
A few of my pieces of my work as a texture artist are attached to the thread (The models in both were done by my lab techs or my school). Feel free to give comments and suggestions to them (keep in mind though I am still learning, so be gentle, lol). The haunted room was a side project in one of my classes and is pretty much completed at this point (aside from a few minor light and texture adjustments Im still working on). The Race was my last project I finished for school and is still a work in progress.
Ive found this site great for asking questions about problems I can not solve, so maybe now you guys can help me. In the Race the 3 cars have their base color and a sand texture on top in a Layered Shader (all procedurals, no file textures whatsoever). I used to have an enviornment chrome texture applied to their reflected colors, which looked really good until I added the sand on top of the base color. At which point the red viper turned pink. Once the reflections were removed however the color returned to normal. For the sake of meeting the deadline I took out their reflected colors so the color would not be warped. However without their reflections they have a very "flat" appearance. Is there a way to have the sand texture on top, and yet keep my reflected texture without my colors changing?
Anyways, thats more than enough from the new guy here. Just introducing myself and starting my time here by showing some of my works. Enjoy!
