Help with texturing

Hello,

I have finished modelling those industrial tanks, but now i do not know how to even start texturing them.

Should i consider UV mapping? or simply add textures from high resolutions images i found on the internet?

ALSO, What is the best approach for texturing a project. Should I start the texturing process after i am entirely done with modelling, or should i texture each small component immediately after i am done with its modelling?

UV mapping is always required if you want to use textures. So yes, you will need to create a UV layout for all the models you want to texture (hand painted / photo sourced).

The other method is known as procedural materials, no UV mapping required but will be “locked” to your software when doing the rendering.

I prefer to wait when everything is modeled, i guess it’s up to you.
