help with layering two textures in photoshop?

Hi Everyone,

I am new to cgsociety, just been studying for a few months at home photoshop and the basics of texturing.

I was hoping to ask for advise on how I should go about creating this texture in photoshop?

I have found some good textures on cgtextures, but I am having trouble with how to blend it all together and add some nice glass effects.

Glass, is usually best done when its rendered through a shader in your 3D software with little or no diffuse textures applied to it. You’ll will want a high reflective/transparent settings in your glass shader to get a believable glass look.
