Dear Animation Forum,
I have perhaps an unusual request. I want to retarget my face motions (eyemovement tracking, blinking, mouth movements, etc.) to an armature. I would like the armature to have a toon/edge rendered/heavy contour/heavy outline/pen&ink look.
As experts in “mocap” media, can you tell me what would be your pipeline for accomplishing this (even if the solution needs multiple platforms, etc.).
Here is one idea that I had:
- Use Facerig for capturing the face and export as .FBX
- Use some kind of dataglove for the hands and exort that as .FBX
NOTE: I dont have Facerig but I heard they recently added extra tracking options for hands. - Import the .FBX files into Blender>Freestyle and use some kind of contour program to get the toon effect.
NOTE: or maybe 3D Studio Max Ink&Pen?
What do you think? I may be way off here.
I appreciate any thoughts or suggestions you have.
