Help: Suggesting scale & Mass in outer space scene?

#1

Hello one and all,

I need to illustrate a planet sized creature emerging from a black hole/ vortex in space. As the scene is set in space, I can’t use techniques that can be used in a landscape image as there is no floor/ sky/ atmosphere/ fog/ other objects etc to help sell the scale of the beast (apart from planets but I want to avoid that if pos). Does anyone have any advice or examples of how to sell scale and mass in an outer space environment?

Cheers

Mike F

you can add some details on beast, showing that he is REALLY that huge (asteroid impact craters, for instance), or place some spaceship in front of him, with shot that shows how tiny it in comparison.

A planet sized creature? Put a planet in the scene maybe?
