Help: C4D and Messiah as Plug-In

#1

Hi All

After ages of goofing around trying to get Cinema 4D and Messiah to communicate I have gotten to a very precarious point where - Deep Joy - I can get animations back and forth!!

Hoorah Hooray… but…

When I save my animation (in C4D), close the file, and open again, my objects are not rendered, they are invisible! They are still there but not renedering! When I switch off the link to Messiah they become visible again. In Messiah all the parts are there as objects but they are not visible there either??

Anyone know the reason? Is there a magic button I’ve missed? Messiah had such promise to be better than the torturous C4D bones but now this silly thing is making my joy slip away.

Thanks in Advance
James

James,

That has been an issue for some time, you may want to check this thread by tjnyc for the workaround. Or you may be better off baking the animation using the mdd reader plugin by Christopher Lutz. It’s free - so, that’s even better.

Thanks Gary

It was the ease of Messiah and the use of the program as a simple plug-in that made it so attractive. Now I’m thwarted again! I did try that thread and the method worked but I lost one of the cinema tags which doesn’t bode well for not losing something else later on!

I will try the baking program you suggested though. Glad to know it isn’t just they way I’m using it.

Cheers
James
