Help - Background Eraser brush seems locked

#1

I am having trouble with Photoshop CS4 using the “Background Eraser” tool and being able to select/change my brush to paint with. It is stuck on “13” as shown in the image. If I select the “Eraser” tool it allows me to change that brush just fine. It seems that only this one is affected. Either there is a problem somewhere or I may not have some setting correct that would cause this.

Any thoughts or advice after looking at my screenshot appreciated.

I get the same popdown. Looks like the MBE is round derivative brushes only. I’m not sure from your post that you haven’t tried sliding the diameter slider provided. Mine works just fine.

OK, I had to reset my brushes and restart the program. It works now to change brush size from “13” to any size I want. According to what you said above, you can’t change brushes though from a hard edge to soft edge, or others? In other words, that is the only brush, which is the default brush for the “Background Eraser”?

Thanks.
