Hello hello! What's all this shouting?

#5

We’ll have no trouble here!

(I hope you were indeed quoting League of Gentlemen with your thread title… if not, ignore this)

#6

Hey Rens. Good to see more of the Max guys around here.
How long have you been into CG, btw? Just curious, because I had always been under the impression that you were already employed and everything. But then if you’re just now a couple months from heading off to VFS (which I’m a bit jealous of, I must admit  )…

#7

Wow… that’s actually 1000 points! Hmmm… now I have more useless junk cluttering up my desk…

#8

Likewise!

Yees? Can I help you at all?

Best show ever. :) Did you see the live show they did?

Heh, I must be doing something right to give people the impression that I’m already employed.
I started with CG when I was about 12, maybe 14. But that was just every now and then, though I’ve always seem to have had drawing classes. I really started to do a lot of CG in the last three years.
Jealous? I bet you’re not jealous of the fact that I had to sell off a kidney and a lung to afford it.

Yeah I did - it’s awesome! And the Christmas Special too - that was hilarious. It really is one of my favourite shows of all time

#10

Welcome, one more Dutchie

VFS hey ? That’s pretty cool.

#11

He Rens, ik heb ook zo’n groenback!

Welcome,

lucky b@sterd… going to VFS… sheesh… kids…

Good luck!

#12

Hey, someone who frequents the max forum more than I do! Good to see you on board Rens! I was going to come in and post the same quote as Leigh, but (as usual) she beat me to it!

#13

Another League fan! I miss my tapes of them back home… I bought one of the DVDs here in the States (which was REALLY hard to find), only to find that they had added a really obnoxious laughter track to it that totally ruined it

I am going to have to ship over the UK originals from home. Bah!

I’ve often thought about creating some of the locations in 3D… I love the look of the show because it’s so very painterly. Creating the Local Shop would be a lot of fun, I think

#15

Are you… local?

#16

He wears a crown and builds new road!

#17

Hello everyone!

I am relatively new to 3d CG and have developed a passion for it. My name is Dave, I am 24, and just coming up to the end of my BA (Hons) Photomedia and Design Communication. I have always had a great interest in art. I have been using 3ds Max for just over a year now, I would say I am at an intermediate level.

I think the CG Society is a great idea!! and look forward to meeting new friends.

P.S I’m a fan too! “Aaahhhh Mickey love youv’e got **** for brains” I think pauline and her pens is one of my favourite characters in that show.

#18

Yeah Pauline is definitely my favourite character.

#19

Hey Rens, I’ve seen plenty of good post with your gears a turning. Just thought I’d say hey and sign your book.

Thanks for all the nice replies everyone! This CGS thing is getting better every day.

Ha! I didn’t know it was that bad.

This should be the next CGS group project.

Thanks!
Groenback, heh, ik denk dat heel Nederland zo’n ding heeft.

About VFS, I can’t wait to go. I’ve heard almost nothing negative about either the school or the city and that’s always good when you’ll be spending a year there.

P.S. Hi and welcome psycomatronic!

#21

Thank you!

The VFS School sounds good, where is it based? also sounds expensive.

building the local shop does sound like a fun idea. Another fun project would be to build Barbara’s Taxi.

Vancouver Film School, Canada: www.vfs.com.

Hehe, that’s not fun, that’s disturbing.

#23

LOL!

You mean building a transvestite’s pink taxi is distur… oh wait… yes you could be right there! errrrmmmm I didn’t really suggest that… right?

ah Vancouver, when are you going? I think I have a cousin who lives somewhere near Vancouver. The school does look cool. I do remember seeing some courses advertised in one of the 3D World magazines a while ago.

This August. Things are going along smoothly, except for my Study Permit: I’m under the impression that my documents didn’t make it to the embassy. Oh well, there’s still time to resend them.
