#1

hi guys,
am beginner in AE. i have compiled a file with a few no of videos (which has already been complied in AE). And also added some effects with the help of a template. After the file is being rendered, the file size becomes enormous(almost 60 gb) to be stored in the drive. Dont know where am i going wrong. can some one help me.

are you rendering to uncompressed AVI?

You are using the default Lossless preset, which on Windows has Uncompressed AVI as the file format, which - surprise, surprise - is uncompressed and thus creates huge files. You need to create your own output module templates to avoid it. A good way of lossless compression is still Quicktime with Animation or PNG CoDec…

I disagree. Doi not render into anything else than uncompressed clips or sequences. Use a dedicated encoding software to shrink file size.
