another test with less reflectivity.

another test with less reflectivity.
now i will rework the texture of the face and the hands and correcting the nose wrinkles

more skin test on another mesh.
just to see if the shader work on another mesh and to testing the difference between object light, and vraylight.
mesh from facegen, speed rework in zbrush.
original color map from facegen ( 512*512 )
i dont have reworked the sss map ( so it’s not correct for now on the ears, nose and eyes ).
rendering time 5mn/ frame.

It really works great on htese tests aswell, really solid look. Wondering if the 5 min render time could be lower, is it optimised or set for maximum result?
the render time could be optimized a lot. it’s a heavy .obj directly imported from zbrush in rez 4.
i am a new zbrush user, and i tested some scene between zbrush and max, but the displacement map in max was not as great as in the original zbrush scene. so, because of that the object is really heavy in max about 65meg…
i must doing some more tests.
the second point the render could be optimized is the quality of the color map.
really bad and low. ( 512512 and the other tests was made with a color map in 40964096 )
so, i decided to render this 4 images in sampling high in vray to incrise the render of the bump map.
i could optimize the hdr and blur it a bit to save some precious secondes.
thank for your comments Roman, and sorry for my english .
little update with a better resolution.
the uv are to streched, the bump not correct.
no smooth on the object.

hey man
the skin test is coming out real nice. i see u have dof in it, did you render a z-channel in v-ray and then post production in photoshop? I having trouble rendering z-channel in vray and it never seem to come out. anyway, great model, can’t wait to see more.
Thank you VanDerGoes and igami !!
the dof is the direct dof from the camera. no post z-depth. what is your problem with your dof in vray ?
i dont know if it can be call an update. but just for the fun, i wanted to test the skin in “extrem” situation. the hdri is cover with the room. so the skin dont recat as well as in the other scene. the polys are not smoothed to.

i have a little question.
i notice a big difference between my render in 3dsmax and photoshop.
my render is more black in 3ds. when i save the image and import it in photohop, its more lighter . i try with a screen capture of 3dsmax to import it in photoshop, and it’s the same lighter image. could you help me please ?
I noticed such differences between both applications as well. Maybe it as to do with your colour profile in photoshop, you could play around with it under edit, colour settings. But you probably already did.
Great work, very photorealistic! ![]()
When you gonna make that tutorial?
(for skin shader, lighting vray etc.)
btw. for photoshop, go view>proof setup and try something
thank you Roman and Abishai-RS !
i noticed a really big difference between the 2 apps. ( and between my 2 pcs, too, but its not the same problem… ).
if i haved seen this picture in my another pc befor posting it…i would completly changed it ! so white, and bleuuu, berk…blaaa
for the tutorial, i am working on it and will share it as soon as possible with a free 3dsmax file, mesh, map and .mat.
but i need to be happy with this skin. it need some more work.
You will post a tutorial? I watting the Vray 1.5 for use SSS. You dont need to wait… hehhehe
=]
Incredible work man, the modeling is really awesome, your character looks great, but i think you’re best part is your skin shader and your light settings, i use & love vray, but my skin shaders sucks, can’t wait for your tutorial master!!!
Sorry my poor english…
Impressive work man! For your trouble with color check the gn0m0n worksh0p about global illumination:interior. For those of you that are looking for shaders, i’ve already posted this link in this forum http://www.chaosgroup.com/forum/php…&highlight=skin. This one has to be a little pumped up. However i’m also with who beg you for help. Just one off-topic question do you use normal map with vray? Does vray support them? Ok i’m sorry for my english(i’ll put it as signature) bye!
Nice models youve really got better since my last reply, im sorry i cant help you with the photoshop and 3ds max lighting problem because i havent experienced it before, keep up the good work.
