Basically ive modelled my first head and bust, and i now i have to texture it as part of an assignment. I have uv mapped the model, however i do not know what order i should do things. Do i make the skin texture first? does the bump map come after? do i make a normal map first? Also im doing a hi and low res of the model, im guessing i should do the low res first then duplicate and smooth for the high res? Im pretty confused right now. Any advise would be appreciated thank you.
Head texturing order?

My workflow would usually be to do the sculpt for the normal map first, then diffuse. This would allow me to extract cavity and occlusion maps to add detail and shadow to the diffuse map. Then I normally do bump last.
Everyone’s workflow will be different so there’s no hard and fixed answer.
Also, in most situations you texture the un-smoothed (low res) model.

I see, i just thought there was a way everybody sort of followed. Thanks, so would i just smooth the textured low res model once its textured and the maps are done to get a high res?
