Can AM do this or can it be faked?

Nope, A:M can´t do hdri. I think you can fake it with skylight

High Dynamic Range Imagery can be used for global illumination, but it isn’t synonymus. The skylight application can use an environment map to color the lights that it creates, but it cannot use HDRI images either.

This link is for a program that will let you create and manipulate HDRI, It has some great tools for creating environment maps from chrome spheres–and will let you save low dynamic range images (i.e. 24bit) as well as high.

I think Lightwave was the first software to incorporate Debevec’s research, but many other applications have added it. I think A:M may one day too.

If skylight could use a HDRI, then that would a good solution, but Ideally it would be great to just be able to light your scene directly with an HDRI environment map!:bounce:

Since Skylight is not compatible with v10 what other ways are there to fake this? There is a new light plug in Teknux??? i really would like hdri in AM. What can we say in a email to Steve to ask for this and reasons why we should have it?
