THE CHALLENGE:___________________________

Sculpt, in a period of 1 month and two weeks, one or more 3D representations of one or more vehicles based on extensive research… For this challenge, attention to detail an imagination are essential.

The idea of this “mini-challenge” is to simulate an impossible deadline for a project. The artists will have at their discretion how detailed the models they will be working on, what program they will be using, the amount of models, and if the models will be shaded/ rigged. But the model will have to be original creation based on EXTENSIVE research.

At the end of the challenge the final model will have to look like a scene that we might see in a cg movie or a commercial.

EVALUATION CRITERIA:

Detailed RESEARCH, and attention to detail are key for ALL entries. Please before doing an entry do your homework.

The best model will be selected by an open vote
for these categories:

◦BEST ORIGINAL INTERPRETATION OF ESTABLISHED VEHICLE
◦BEST WIP
◦BEST CAR DETAIL
◦BEST DIORAMA
◦BEST WIP
and the big one of course:◦BEST MODEL
The winner will get bragging rights and a small banner
designed by me.

I remember n the last car challenge that you add an other category: Best Interior. Would be great to have it back, since maybe sometime car modelling can be to simple, interior could show more the hardcore part of the modelling challenge. What do you think?

#3

If only I had the time I would so do the Doof Wagon from Fury Road.
I can’t think of anything in any movie that hit me as hard as that war drumming, flame throwing, metal thrashing monster.
I’d even put it over the T-Rex in Jurassic Park and for me that’s saying something.

#4

Just a note that you have two categories BEST WIP there!

Otherwise thanks for the challenge

#5

Argh!, I made the Kaneda’s bike years ago!, I can’t submit an already made model, can I?

#6

No sorry but we could showcase it as a NONCOMPETING entry

#7

That would be AWESOME!

Thank you very much in advance.

P.S.: By the way I have to images, with and without fairing.

#8

Say I want to model a batmobile. Do I need to model all the batmobiles, or is one enough ?

#9

Just foudn out about this. when is the deadline?

#10

There’s about 3 weeks left, maybe a hair more

#11

I tend to be lax about the deadlines…

#12

Hi everyone!
This is my first challenge… and i´ll begin with this: The A-Team Van!

#13

Airplanes have wheels…

right?

Okay… I’ll get my coat

#14

So I believe the final output needs to be an ambient occlusion render?
No texturing involved, yes?

#15

I hope I’ll have enough time to do this. Might not be able to but I’ll give it a shot. I’m going to base my design off the trailer from Breaking Bad.

EDIT: I don’t have enough time for this so anyone else feel free to try this concept.

#16

It’s a modelling challenge. So the voters suppose to vote for the model and is topology, not lightrig or textures. Of course, if people have time to do Textures they can for a beauty render. But Ambient occlusion should be fine. Simplistic but fine.

Brisacier… you need to post them in your thread

This is my first challenge. I’m using Blender 3D.

I’m going to try to get it done by deadline starting on it today. IF I have time I might do R2D2. but if not I’ll create Eve or both in addition to Wall-E.
