Model an Iconic wheeled Vehicle from Film,TV or Gaming.
You can model the vehicle with a Model character and an environment IF YOU WISH.,
The vehicles can be Cars, Motorcycles, tanks, buggies etc from any era. The final model can be an original interpretation of an existing model, 3D Pixel art, an accurate reproduction or an stylized sculpture. You can also find inspiration in unused concept art used for films/tv./anime. And NO you can not do Transformers. that will be a different challenge.
You get the gist, now show it to us.
◦All MODELS MUST BE EITHER ORIGINAL CREATIONS OR BASED ON DETAILED RESEARCH YOU HAVE TO POST your sources on your WIP thread.
◦All Artist of original concept art must be given credit
◦If you decide to do an original interpretation of a character, please post ALL concept all art.
See list at the end of this post for inspiration.
There are FOUR ways to participate:
Imagine game classic characters from a classic TV show
from series like:
MASK (All the Matt Rider crew vehicles)
Mario Kart (all the Go karts + Riders)
Batman (All the Batmobiles)
Model an individual classic Vehicle
GhostBusters (Ecto 1)
Akira (Tetsuo Bike)
Do a specific Car part that tell us a story
KITT (Its from bumper with the Sensor)
Mad Max: Fury Road (Inmortan Joe’s Steering Wheels)
Imagine doing an environment based on the topic
Knight Rider (Kitt vs Goliath)
Lost in Space (Chariot )
Sculpt, in a period of 1 month and two weeks, one or more 3D representations of one or more vehicles based on extensive research… For this challenge, attention to detail an imagination are essential.
The idea of this “mini-challenge” is to simulate an impossible deadline for a project. The artists will have at their discretion how detailed the models they will be working on, what program they will be using, the amount of models, and if the models will be shaded/ rigged. But the model will have to be original creation based on EXTENSIVE research.
At the end of the challenge the final model will have to look like a scene that we might see in a cg movie or a commercial.
Detailed RESEARCH, and attention to detail are key for ALL entries. Please before doing an entry do your homework.
The best model will be selected by an open vote
for these categories:
◦BEST ORIGINAL INTERPRETATION OF ESTABLISHED VEHICLE
◦BEST CAR DETAIL
and the big one of course:◦BEST MODEL
The winner will get bragging rights and a small banner
designed by me.
