Would Warhammer 40k characters work?
HCR MINI-Challenge #29: SciFi Icon
I was considering sculpting Wikus from District 9… and perhaps the mech…
Maybe use Decaprio as Wikus…would that qualify?
Well I consider D( a modern classic in the same vein as Robocop…
So YEAH!
And in that case you donth ave to recast the role if you dont want to.

What about Christopher Walken modeled in Bounty Hunter from Star Wars, and I will do renders without and with the helmet?
I was wondering if I could model Barbraella? She would really challenge me, and I have some good ideas with it.
She is a STONE COLD scifi Icon.
Are you going to base her on the classic 1960 film or are you going to recast her role?
I am looking at going with the classic Jane Fonda. I am thinking right after she was attacked by the metal toothed dolls. Her clothes will be ripped up with bite marks on her.
If you are new to HMC then you have missed all of the previous discussions on this topic. To summarize, paraphrase etc. Things have changed in the world of modeling over the last few years and that is reflected here.
- Modeling/Sculpting - Poly modeling is important but sculpting is here to stay. Both skills should be mastered.
- Basemesh - Because using a preexisting basemesh is typical for the industry and because HMC is to simulate a project with impossible deadlines this has now become accepted.
This was the general consensus but obviously not everyone agrees with it.
It is what it is.
Hey Guys , I’m totally new on that forum , and my eye is stuck in that thread . That HCR is pretty exciting thing . So I wanna participate ( Probably first time ) . So my question is , can I make the APU from Matrix , it’s a mech suit . Probably I will drop some character too , but let’s check the pictures :
So , it’s allowed ?
How far can we go in terms of changing the original design? Can we change around the character features to more suit our taste but still have the character recognizable?
silly question can be hand modeled (traditional modeling) or does it have to be sculpted?
Any method is fine, as long as you start your model FROM SCRATCH. So no premade base model.
Good Luck.
