wait- i’m fuzzy on one of the rules. do we have to use concept art that’s created in the thread you linked, or can we design our own? I understand that it has to be original, just curious if using a custom design is a disqualifier or not.

excellent… although i’m wrapping up my last term at VFS, so I don’t know if I’ll have time to participate yet. I really like this theme though, and I suspect that we’ll see some pretty amazing entries!

Oh, this is killing me. I really want to do this one. Looks very cool but alas, I am finishing up a contract on top of my regular job, and I have siggraph in 2 weeks (NIH decided we need a booth despite my being the only 3D guy there right now and the “studio” being less than a year old). Anyway, I may still start a WIP thread anyway and just see what I have time for. Regardless of what I am able to do, good luck to all contestants. I love the art so far. Should be a fun challenge.

I really really hope that someone models my queen and/or pirate lord. :slight_smile: It’d be nice to see them in 3d

is it too late to enter? I’m pretty new to modeling and would like to try to give it a whirl so that I can truly learn some technique by bashing my head through it…even if it might make me bald :banghead:

I started modeling a character last week with this theme in mind. However, it is a male character, not a “Queen,” so I was wondering if I could still enter the contest. If so, I will post the concept art and begin a wip thread today. Thanks
