Have you seen this.

Hi have any of you seen this new renderer?Looks nice but expensive.
Nice looking images in the gallery, but maybe not so good when somebody fiddles with settings in there own application.
The only good thing i see is that it works realtime, so they say. Can’t test it because Mac version is not yet available.

Um, it looks ok…

I think camera smokes it, but it looks ok.

Pretty cool, to do this in real time, but imho a bit expensive for a HD version.
Speaking of new renderers has anybody seen this one:

i wonder how these new apps become so popular (user numbers) while not seeing
any advertisements yet and this is a beta…

Beta testers

I just registered for a demo, looks interesting, kinda like Alias image studio but even easier to setup the scene.

Pretty cool. Realtime rendering is finally happening then is it? You can tell they’ve cut a lot of corners to get that kind of performance. It doesn’t look like it’s meant to be an all-purpose renderer.

No interior shots, no displacements, no SSS as far as I can see, lots of hard surfaces and some of the renders feel quite “old-fashioned” in their quality, especially the reflections and speculars feel much too harsh. The quality of the materials and the light in some of the renders is pretty ugly, flat and lifeless.

And the price is a bit steep, but I’m sure the market they’re going after can support that.

Cool, i´m unfortunately on the Mac. Would it be possible, once you are familiar with the demo (and your time allows), to share your thoughts? Like rendering times, etc.?

#7

Sure, although i got an email saying -

“Bunkspeed is in the process of finalizing a demonstration version available for download. HyperShot is available immediately for purchase through the internet store. You will receive a link to download a demonstration version in the next 3-5 business days. Thanks for your patience.”

Hmm.

The trial is now available for the Mac ,but intel based only (but as far as I know only supports OBJ files in the mac version)
http://bunkspeed.com/hypershot/demo.html

It has also had an update to 1.2
http://bunkspeed.com/hypershot/faq.html#whats_new

I am a complete Noob with the 3D world (hence here, so please be patient with me!) but thinking Hypershot is something I may need (photography based automotive retouching) although with a UK based Price of £6500…will need this to be the industry standard!

Anyone else tried demo or even bought this? I’d love to know your thoughts?

Thank´s for the Info.

Well im using a Mac PPC like many others, i assume, so no demoing…

I think this could be also a good app (the Web Vers.) for presenting quickly WIP´s.
I only wonder why the real time res. is bigger than the final render res (Web Vers.).
If my math is right the final renders would be a bit to small for presenting artwork
on the Web?! Other than that cool app!

well I’ve just downloaded and played with Hypershot - pretty cool app.

The real time lighting is very welcome but the interface is a bit too hidden for my liking. Makes me think there are lots of limitations to what you can actually do.

With EI set up well you can get some very useful visual feedback on lights/fog etc. and then with the click of a button camera rips out an image.

I can see this app being very useful for product design where you’re looking at changing materials on the fly but for the architectural work i do its not the right thing I don’t think.

Just my two penneth
