Hash should have More model tool in next version

#1

it would be cool if Animation Master in V.12 has more tool to help us to work on model easy as…MODO , SILO or WING3d.

Just a wish on Chiness Newyear

Just My opinion

Gong Xi Fa Chai

Actually AM tools are really good and easy to understand. Why complicate matter more?

Im guessing you haven’t yet graphs the full principle of modeling. yet

After years of modeling with different packages, you’ll come to draw the conclusion that they are all same:

Extrude & Subdivide

Now quit wineing and model something dangnamit

I agree with you Spark. I, and many other people, having been asking for polyginal modeling tools for years. But I don’t think it’s technically feasable. The entire software package revolves around Hash Patches. It would probably require an entire rewrite of the software.

Gong Xi Fa Chai stands for “Happy New Year” it has notting to do with my name

No offense meant, but I’m guessing you haven’t yet seen some of Cyberspark’s models. :stuck_out_tongue:
I seem to have misplaced my link to his website, but I did manage to save some of his images, that he posted a while ago. I hope he won’t mind if I posted 'em again.

It’s pretty obvious Cyber knows how to use the existing tools.

Hi again.

'Just noticed this on the main Hash forum:

http://www.sgross.com/plugins/plugin10/index_e.html

Stephen Gross has whipped up a new freeware plugin, to help modelling. Looks cool!

Sincerely,

Carl Raillard

This is not mine model… http://www.sonic.net/raillard/hash/ToonLand-Char03.jpeg
Any way thank you Carl
this is my site http://www.mediastation.tv/Gallery/gallery.html

Make model with AM is … like use hammer and … to build a house
yes we can build a house but we need more tool … to finish the job
nothing new sine version 8.5 …( model tool)
Like Babaduca said just “Extrude & Subdivide” …but How to extrude and How Subdivice till now … they use the same way as version 8.5
yes u can extrude along the path but just in only one axis
yes u can Subdivide but you could do it by hand…
if u have to look at VT Modo Wing and Silo … you will know what’s i want hash to be in a model tool

Animation segtion is very good in my opinion
my suggestion for Hash model is …(hash should have polygon section in model mode)
1 . Should model in polygon first because in polygon mode you can easy to extrude and subdivice…( you can cut ,slide …)
2. then convert to Spline or Subdivice
just an easy pipe line

very day in my work i use wing for model an animate&render in Animation master
i very bore to convert to AM and adjust some CP…
if hash have Polygonmodel in animationmaster it’s would be great.

this is just My opinion …hope Matin will read this

Stitch tool was added in V10, I think-- That is an awsome improvement. Also the way you can adjust the magnitude, alpha, and gamma at once was an improvement to the modeling tools (since you can now animate those properties, tweaking the gamma and alpha is not a problem later when you animate).

There are a lot of cool tools made by other users as plug-ins. Maybe if you could make a custom button that would run a particular wizard that would be nice!

If paying attention to the fellows forum has taught me anything about MArtin, its that he WILL listen to suggestions, but not ones made idly or off the cuff.

To put that another way, he wants suggestions to be VERY specific and to drive it home, a suggestion would need to show a direct benefit to the majority of his users.

So, William has suggested custom buttons. The way he suggested it makes sense and he presented an example of how it would be used. Seems like a pretty cut and dry presentation of an idea to me. We’ll see how they react to it.

As for ‘better’ modelling tools… Martin has flatly and un-apologetically said that Hash will never work on ‘cross technology’ tools. I took that to mean many of the tools commonly found in polygonal and sub-d modelers won’t ever be considered.

That’s not to say that tools that could exist with the Hash patch world can’t be suggested. That link to Stefan’s plugin is a good example of something that would be a GREAT addition to the base toolset if developed to be part of the core program and not ‘just a plugin’.

So I guess my point is that if you’re specific and mindful of the ‘only tools for patches’ concept, you will have a chance of having your feature request taken seriously.

:applause:

it’s my opinion…not my suggestion. if any body has another opinion i need to hear. :stuck_out_tongue:

#13

Hot face of shame.

Oh, well. Luckily (for me) your modelling skills are excellent, and so I don’t have to revise my opinion.

Sincerely,

Carl Raillard

PS: Thanks for the link to your website.

I agree. It’s great that, in the model, we can now tweak the magnitude, alpha & gamma, with impunity. It used to be a surface that had alpha and gamma modifications would exhibit ghastly “popping” problems when it was animated. That’s a thing of the past.

One thing, though. I have difficulty animating the alpha and gamma values of a CP in an Action or Relationship with the bias handle. I find I cannot adjust them “all at once,” like I can in the model. The bias handle works differently, is what I’m saying. My workaround is turn on the Show Manipulator Properties thingamajig, and tweak the values with numerical inputs.

Sincerely,

Carl Raillard

PS: Oh, yeah. I’m still using v10.5q. Is v11 any better in this regard?

I think we have all made our points well. I might add that all of the models on eggprops were also modeled in Animation Master using an even more limited toolset than what Hash is offering now. So. . . good job everyone. Nice topic. . . but I’m going to end it now.
