Hash and nepotism

#1

I always wondered how it was that some of the hash programmers share names:

Noel Pickering - Will Pickering

Randy Croucher - Bob Croucher

Looking at the Siggraph photos, it looks loke the Pickerings are definately related.

Does the same go for the Crouchers?

Does programming ability run in the family?

Yes. Yes. Must be nothin’ goin on…

You forgot about Martin Hash, Marshall Hash and James Hash.

Small family run business.

So:)

Since its family the chances of a programmer leaving (Think LW and Luxology) are less. Since its family they really love what they are doing and more likely to try to make AM as good as possible. My $.02:wavey:

Or… they stick together 'cause of blood, seethe at each other and infest the program with half-assed code…

No one can evaluate this based on simply “they’re related.” How silly.

What exactly do you mean by this? Evaluate what?

I worked at Hash for two years. Randy writes a lot of the interface code, Bob writes the Dynamics and IK stuff. Noel is there in-house tester and debugger, Will handles most of there systems stuff… Marshall does a lot of promo/sales stuff too. There’s also Dan… not sure if he’s there anymore. He didn’t have a sibling there at all.

I meant: No one can evaluate the strength or weakness of a company simply based upon whether or not it is made up of mostly family or not.
