HARDCORE MODELING!: 80's Cartoon: Ulysses 31

Cheers Ian!

Right, due to the extra couple of days I’ve managed to get a little further and for this challenge at least, I’m going to call him ‘finished’.

I didn’t get around to working on his chair, so that’s staying simple for now. Also didn’t sort out uv’s or textures hence looking a bit like a plastic toy.

Testing out Vray’s new SSS with a marble version:

While I didn’t get to finish him to the degree I wanted & I’m still not happy with a lot of elements (mostly the pose) I still thoroughly enjoyed the challenge.

Good luck all!

Very nice Alex,

Liking the lighting and I wouldn’t say it looks like a plastic toy, I think the suit looks leathery/PVC. One crit and that is the thigh muscle above the knees looks a little odd, too lumpy but then I can’t say I’ve ever assessed old peeps’ legs!

The pose is cool, can’t see anything wrong with it at all. A great entry and considering you started late in the day you should be well proud.

Looks excellent mate!

I only have a few super minor crits/suggestions, but you know what they are:)

Oh…needs some smoke

Never did click with the idea, but there is no denying that this is a high quality effort.

Well done, sir.

Looks good, love the simplicity. I actually wish I did somthing this simple, shows the model work in a better light. Nice sculpting and lighting, probable vote from me mate

wow great work, I love his boots and the environment. Now I have to watch the show to see who this guy is!

Nice work there. One of the few pieces that provokes an emotional response, another being the Circe model.

Well done.
