Hi guys,
I decided to go with Wild Bill from the good ol' G.I. Joe ( A real American HERO!)
The reason I chose this guy is because I find ''mustache'' a very gnarly word and because who doesn't find a mustache amusing. Héh.
I'm a little late on the post. So let me sum up what I've done so far.
This is my plan so far:
Base mesh in 3ds max
U.V Unwrap in 3ds max
Detailing in Z brush
Texture in Photoshop
Render in 3ds max.
Here is what I found as references:

* I wish for the outcome to basicly be a mix between the figurine and the Gun pose on the packaging.
I started by placing my cuts in photoshop over the Reference. Just to get a visual idea on where I'd maybe want to put my loops when extruding the ruff mesh.
1- So, I started from the bottom, plain and simple. While looking at references online for cowboy boots and looking at the figurine.

2- Next, I fastly created a hand/basic glove. I use references pictures from 3d.sk . 3d.sk is a must subscription to any artist.
I starting extruding details around the pant area to create those overlapping chops, a few accessories, created the colar and the little vest from duplicating faces already on the body to have that same shell of matching edges. I kept looking at different 3d models online, the figurine and the package background, and went from there to create my edge flow.

3- Knife, harness and Gun. I also added some edge loops around the seams of the jacket and accessories to give it more of an organic feel. Deformed a lot of areas so that the models isn't so boxy looking.

4- Now with the head! I did it fast over a sunday afternoon. It looks on the border line of crap but He'll have big glasses and I deform it a bit better in z brush. Hopefully it comes out a little more decent with some z-love.

5- A little mesh smooth to give more the feel of Bill. Any comments by this point would be much appreciated mates :applause:
