HARDCORE MODELING!: 80's Cartoon: Cobra hiss tank

#1

I was actually modeling this w/out even knowing about the challenge , its mostly done , still trying to tweak the treads to make them animate-able so if anyone has any good tips for doing so please share , I did have to do a little customization on it in the cockpit area , due to the severe lack of detail on the toy pics i used for references (this one actually has controls as opposed to the little plastic armrests on the toy) other customization was in the suspension area as it was non-existant on the toy as well. So far I have probably about a solid 5-6 days invested in it of actual modeling time and about ten times that tryin to find an efficient way to rig the treads. here are some pics of the mostly complete model, try to excuse the awful textures as i kinda suck in that dept.

gotta dig up the ref pics again, will post those next

Needs more WIP.

Other than that it looks great. Always thought cobra had the better looking gear.

yeah , wish i had more WIP pics of it , but like I said I didn’t realize that this challenge was going on or I would’ve documented my progress. I’m juggling 3 projects now, still need a little more work on this one and i got a robotech zentradi battle pod up here too, and am working on making a VF-1 Valk that (if all goes well) will actually be able to transform cleanly. That one i am documenting fairly well (actually planning to make a timelapse vid of its construction one part at a time) In the middle of a 3 day weekend between class terms here at full sail so hopefully i’ll get some of it up here today. …anyhow here are some f the ref pics i used for the hiss tank

as you can see from the pics or remember from the toy there wasn’t alot of detail n the cockpit area and as for the treads …well this thing could high center on a twig, so I added some suspension and a little ground clearance so this thing could actually work in RL
