Yes. I would advise you to look on real samples of fire-arms. May be you find some ideas.
I love the halo guns, but I wanted to put a twist on my gun and make it look something like yours but yet it would fit int he halo universe.
Right now I’m in class, but I got a question for you Felix?
How do you make your piping? Do you spline shape it?
And I have started a new gun that’s in the halo game series, I’v3 found one that was a concept drawing, And when I get home I will go ahead post up the blue prints, and a wip pic with your tutorial on lighting.
By the the class I’m in now is called adobe photoshop 1 “even though its really adobe cs4 extended”
Ok, Loggin off.
Well I"ve found a gun I like,
working on the base model of the gun.

Wire frame picture of the model.

The blueprint.

Detail work sucks, and I need to fix my chamfer.

A different view, and yeah I know like I said, I got to fix my chamfer.

No, I’ve just edit the polymesh.
It’s more comfortable for me, but you can make the same with splines.
The second model looks like laser rifle from Fallout 3. Nice concept, go on.
Could you show me what you mean? I’ve haven’t touched in 2-3 years & I’m very rusty.
I’ve also decided that this model will be the same gun as you saw in the blueprints, but it’s going to shoot one ballistic missile, which I will model as well.
Ps, can some one show me how to texture my model via zbrush or adobe photoshop cs4?
OK, make a cylinder or pipe (In that case cylinder), convert it to editable poly, than select vertex in modifier editable poly, next rotate points as you want.)
You can also use mesh smooth to make the shape clear.

If you got such problem with mesh smooth, make a small extrude on each end of your pipe.

Thank very much bro, this model is going to be my catalog model for my final exam in Vis Com, I got 15 ( 14 weeks now, weeks to complete it.)
Updated, I’ve re modeled my hose , thanks to Felix, And I think it looks a lot better now, plus the hose actually lines up like it should line up,
All I have to do now , is to add the screws, do a little shape merging again, and I should be half way done with the gun, modeling wise.
By the my image host is upgrading, so I apologize for the small pictures!
Thank you for the link Zac, I really like Smugmug.com, and they should be back up soon, they’re just upgrading the server.
Major updates!
I’ve added a lot more detail, and I’ve segmented my hose.

Better view of the detail, More to come in the next few weeks.

Now I’m working on the gun handle and the rest of the gun, This version I’m doing is going to have a double barrel shot gun that you pump, and then the missile launcher as said before!

The Blueprint, the side view of the gun

The gun’s handle view

The gun about 65+ percent done.

“Wow” I may actually get the gun done in 13 weeks before my portfilo needs to be done.
Woohoo, anyways C&C is always a good thing
A little scale correction, I didn’t realize it on the blueprints the gun handle had to be larger, lol!

The handle to the gun is done, All I have to do is mirror the screws for the other side.
And then the fun starts!

Major update, All that’s left to do is to add the greeble, and then texturing.
Uggg Texturing.
