Hairfx - color map?


is there any way to apply a color map to an object and have hairfx use that for hair distribution? i.e. red would be long hairs, blue would be short, etc.

the reason i ask is that its difficult to get clean edges on hairlines when using Selection IDs.


Of course, just push right within the distribution button at the left of Length Multiplier spinner. Then Choose a map, or even a UVW channel, so you can paint the surface with vertex paint and define in real time the length
