Hail, My Friends...

Howdy gang. Wanted to sign up when this place opened up but got tied down. Now I’m here and loving it. For those who don’t know me, my name’s Teyon, I’m a character modeler. I started out making characters in Rhino and moved on to WINGS and Silo. I’ve used 3DSMax 2.5, 3, and 4. While I’ve toyed with Maya, I never got into it but XSI is looking pretty good. At the moment, I’m preparing some Rhino creature modeling video tutorials for LEGO. They’re flying me out for a second year in a row so that I can give the staff some pointers on using Rhino for character modeling in their downtime. When I return, I’ll probably be getting a new PC ( I use a pentium 2 450MHz machine), a copy of ZBRUSH2 and XSI. I’d like to land a gig working full time in CG but at the moment, I’m just a freelancer. :frowning: So, thanks for having me here and wish me luck.

Dang, not to be rude but I have thrown away faster systems! DO get a new system when you get back, and then I can welcome you both to the cg collective and the 21th century!

Take care,

-Shea

Welcome, Teyon! I’ve enjoyed your work for some time, and it’s good to see you’re still hanging out with the cool kids in here.

I’m back by the by…I have a new PC too. Now, I know you’re gonna say, “WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!?” but in my defense, I’ve always wanted one and it looks neat all lit up. Long story longer, I got a:

Sony VAIO
Intel Pentium 4 Processor 640 with HT at 3.20GHZ 800 MHZ FSB
2MB L2 cache
1GB PC-3200 400MHZ DDR
ATI Radeon X300, 128MB DDR SDRAM (allows for 2 monitors)
250GB HD
DVD+R Double Layer/DVD±RW Drive
DVD-Rom Drive
17 inch SONY LCD Monitor.

Hi Anders! Howdy, Rebecca! Nice article by the way. Shadow and light are hard things to master in any medium and you seem to have explained it well enough for even us simpletons. The Vaio has been a great and liberating experience and though I didn’t get ZBrush, it runs XSI with no problem while running Silo at the same time. Thanks everyone for the kind words of encouragment. I’m working on a bunch of models for a demo reel (have to figure out how to make one of those too) and will let you all know when it’s ready. Cheers!
