Guanajuato Alley, Eugenio GArcia (3D)

i love the plants on the side, but the shadow confuses me. Are the plants just not casting a shadow? it looks like there is some sort of shadow above the railings, but its very thin, as though its casting a shadow of a plane object rather than a plant.

#26

Mate this is fantastic, where’s the nearest airport:wavey:

#27

Great work :applause: ,liked the details & light  .

#28

The thing that most sticks out to me is the texture at the top of the buildings on the right, they’re identical. I’m also curious as to why the street light is on, it’s kinda cool but I don’t know if it would be on during the day. The leafs on the ground are a bit flat, i think leaves usually curl as they dry, maybe not  Great work, I love the feel but there are little details that could improve the scene.

#31

very nice rendering man. the only thing that came to my attention is the amount of specularity on the bottom of the wall left.

Other than that it rocks man!!
Keep up the good work.

#32

Excellent piece . Really like the lighting and texture selections.

#33

Lovely piece of work, very effective. :applause:

The only observations I had were the bottom of the plant pots seemed a little too rounded and the ‘pebble’ square at the front would have been better with some form of bump/normal mapping on it, or even hard geometry.

#34

Looking really great, no nitpicking from me, just great ;).

#35

Nice one! the lighting looks very good. some textures could improve I guess, like the wall, the bump is too strong…

the big brown “flowerpot” also could need some finetuning texture-wise. I find the whole flowerpot-thing kinda weird…

but whats bugging me most is the background pic. noone else has mentioned it, which I find weird, since in my eyes it looks too flat. it lacks contrast, something makes it stick out and theres something with the perspective- cant really put my finger on it. just knitpickin- but I think the back.pic kinda drags the whole pic down a bit. sorry for that.

anyhoo, solid work!

#36

I agree really great work. The only thing I could say is that it is a little to clean. Most 3D image of architecture image do not look lived in. But all and all a really great image. I love the texture and lighting.

i like the contrast between the cool blues on the left side and the warmer yellows on the right. It doesn’t strike me as photorealistic, but artistically realistic and beautiful.
The stone on the lower left seem to have a lot more bump to them than everything else in the image, including the street and the white inlay stones. Either raise the bump elsewhere too, or lower the bump on the wall. It would create a more uniform appearance.

#39

Textures are great, the light is bouncing off the white too much, you could probably tone that down, and the last two set of steps look unproportionate and almost as if there weren’t any steps, just two big ones.

Good work though.

Nice rendering, my 2 cents would be:

  • Blue spill on left wall a little too strong
  • Specular level of white stucco to high

Great work!
