Guanajuato Alley, Eugenio GArcia (3D)

Hi artecnl,
a very nice piece of work. I love the
flowers at the bottom part. the building at the top does not
look symetrical enough, but maybe because in the real place, it is not
symmetrical also.
Keep it up buddy…

Excellent work. Tell me something - is there a square right in front of that alley? In the direction of the viewer (like, behind us)?

#53

nighttrain- i dont really know, maybe, i dont know that alley very well

#54

So, you did it by looking at a picture? I ask because I know someone who has recently been there, and she things she might have actually seen that very alley…

#55

i like your work:thumbsup:

#56

my compliments. Texture, lights, details, feelings are all really great. Even the bottom left side of wall, appearing overbumped, is perfect, in my point of view. I live in a little mediterranean town and I know when the sun is able to overbump the walls.
I like the 3d signs too (the leaves in the centre bottom part of the pic). Just a … personal… hmmm… shame on me… crit: the glasses of the face house windows are too reflective. It seems not glass. Metal indeed. Maybe I’m wrong.
Anyway… you are a great 3dr!!!

very nice mood. I can feel the sun on my face ^^

Excellent work! I work near that place! It´s near the “Plaza de la Paz”. At least it seams to be that zone… Am I right? It´s really nice to see my hometown in 3D and in this gallery. Guanajuato is an amazing place to visit, amazing work dude!, Congratulations!

… Excelente trabajo!

Very nice. I especially like the way the surface textures were applied to emphise a worn weathered look.

This image kicks my skillz ass, but I have one complaint, and this ones a big one to me. Out of all the effort you put into this, making it wonderfully awesome in almost every way, why does it look like you cheated on the railings in front of all the windows? The horizontal pieces all look nice and 3d, definitely got some volume there… but the verticals all look like double-sided planes with an alpha’d texture on them. Either that’s truely the case, or they’re just paper thin. The further away they are, the more they start to look like bad mip-mapping on a real-time environment to me.

Granted, I’ve not much of a right to complain, as I’ve never made anything that looks this nice, much less finished an entire project in five days, but I gotta make myself feel better some how and picking on a tiny thing in a whopping great pool of awesome is about the only way I can manage right now. XD

light set very nice!

color shoud be set nice!

#67

love the water stains on the buildings. i would have gone a little down on the bump mapping, but overall, great job!

Is the mountain in the background modeled, or just a background?
