Group Images

#1

when I right-click on a named group (in a model, in the PWS) in the popup menu I see “add image” and “rotate image” it seems to apply an image like a decal but only to the patches in the group- anybody know more about this? what’s the advantage/disadvantage of using this instead of decals?

You can apply an image to a group of patches instead of as a decal, but it puts the image in place so that it stretches to fill the patch. This can be useful for doing things like a repeating pattern on a wall or floor. But if you have a lot of differences in patch sizes on a model (such as on a face) you would want to use a decal, which offers more control.
