i like you drop ship a lot… :thumbsup: very nice design and texturing is going good as well… i just may suggest to tweak material properties… cos now texture looks more like leather then metal or so… and sure you need higher resolution texture…

your last pic gives a nice sense of atmosphere, has an air of “epic loss” if you know what I mean.

one thing I have been meaning to ask you, if you keep producing renders & models like this, are you sure your family still knows what you look like? :smiley:

How did U manage to achieve so nice metallic look on your models? The specular is the key?

yes sepcular… but… its a balance between spec. and GRIT… it needs to have it on the surfice especialy if its been outside more than a hour =) … i used a procedural for the specular so only parts of the surfice would be shiny

Very sweet indeed.

Only crit is the explosion on the cap ship…looks too spherical/precise - I mean, and explosion’s pretty random, IMO… just a thought.

yep they are random… that was just made with a volumetric light… still tweakin stuff … just the idea for the broken ship …

I love that exploding ship. I think you should have some more geometry at the break, though. Some ragged edges, flying shrapnel, etc. Looks a little too clean now.

Ooooh I like the cap ship FX :). Looks crazy, but maybe you should add some chaos to the explosion cuz it looks a bit too…huh… right :bounce: waiting for the update!

working on the burning ship… not its not an explosion per say… i wanted a melty plasma look as the ship is falling… i gota work on makin th eflames cover up th elack of modeling a docking bays on the side

Looking sweet - the colours are great.

‘Melty plasma’ - that sounds awesome. There’s still a lot of work to be done refining this, IMO, but it’s going very nicely - and looks great so far.

Defender fighter… very cheaply built to serve as disposable defence …
