Ok here’s my idea. Same scenario as the hiroshima bomb in world war 2. Basicly humans that now live in space are at war with an alien species. They have created a weapon that can destroy an entire solar systems. I plan on creating an image taken from inside a ship or something. Showing the destruction taking place.
Now its time to start sketching.
I’ve changed my mind already. :rolleyes: I’m going to stick to what i’m good at, character design. So story is now. A group of explorers on an alien planet run into huge beast of an alien thats about to rip them all into threads.
I like your 2nd idea :), but i don’t know if it’s suitable enough for the contest.

I don’t think your group of explorers and your huge alien (:)) will fit with the contest. I might be wrong tho. Maybe if you alter your idea a bit, like instead of explorers you could use a large group of people colonising a new world, not aware of the alien presence. It makes the concept a bit bigger, make them flee in terror from your big aliens, completely surprised by their presence. Obviously they’re bad and willing to kill ;). Just an idea. I might be wrong tho… if i am, ignore everything i said, but it would be a damn shame if you’d work out a cool concept that doesnt fit with the contest.
I think perhaps nix0r may have a good point. Take that idea you have and expand it outwards. Try to envision a 'bigger picture" that your concept will relate to. Try to relfect upon some great science fiction and fantasy stories and what made them truly epic or grand. Once you envision something like that, make a connection from your concept to that iconic theme. Show that relationship in your image. It’s just a suggestion. Good luck to you.
Thanks for your comments guys. I see your point. I would still like to keep the explorers but i think need to change their scenario. I’m still brainstorming so this might all change, but the explorer team will consist of 6 people and one robot.

This will probably change soon. I want the characters to be the main focus. But with this sketch, half of them are in the distance

So here’s my new idea. A massive gun fight on a ship or something. Its a bit half assed, but you get the idea. I’m itchin to start modelling.

I hope that’s half the image, because with all the people looking to the left, it makes you look of the picture? Will there be another half?
This is the robots gun. The tube will come out and conect to the back of the robot for ammo supply.

HieSplike: I was thinking of adding the rest but the images aspect ratio will probably need to change to fit it all in. I’ll have to go read the rules to see if it can be changed.

Here’s another gun. Next i’ll build a big sucker of a gun somthing like a RPG or somthing. I’m building these without any references so if your got any suggestions to improve them i would love to here them.

guns are looking good, but you might want to start focusing on the characters…there are so many in your sketch! And, the guns could use a trigger

The modeling of you guns is quite nice, I noticed the missing trigger too. Your character sketches are nice and stylistic, dont know if they go with concept scene sketches though. It is looking good so far.
