Grand Space Opera 3D Entry: taavi torim

#141

The small ship is realy nice. The terrain is too much “COMPUTER LOOKING”

#142

i am not very satisified with textures-those need some tweaking. Also i need to do boning…/aargh/
I hope to start with final compo as soon as possible (clock is ticking… )
Ang good luck to everyone

#143

Yes, work a bit on the textures, but I think that the general colors, cloth design and some meterial division are very good.

#144

Thnx Arturro!
I will work on metallic stuff-maybe some sphisticated bump-patterns to make those helmets look more real.

The character will appear relatively small on the scene-so no need to small details.

#145

Those buildings should be part of background. I didnt model the ground surface because the lowe part is hidden behind the mountains. So the upper part will be visible.
What U think?

#148

Hope Ulike it!

#149

proceeding step by step-some updates in bodys texture. What U think?

#150

I like it, but I would change the belt color from this yellow, for this nice light blue metallic form the “belts” on the chest.

#151

Arturro-maybe indeed. If i dont add any yellow stripes somwhere else

#152

Hi! I started to set up the lighting and final compositing. I will add the mothership to the scene soon-it needs extra attention. There are so many things to add-i hope to finish before deadline…

#153

Hey Taavi,

I like what you have done, your image is coming along great. One comment though , you are going to add the mother ship in the centre of the scene so I am thinking this is the main focus of attention. Right now the engine of the ship on the left in your last image is really bright , I think it grabs my attention to much. Maybe you could rotate this ship a little so you could see more of the ship and a little less of the engine. Just an opinion you can think about.
Anyways great image so far.
Mike

#154

agree about the engine being too bright - it looks like it’s revving to take off.

Like the image a lot. Good sense of distance and the models are cool.

#155

here is the fnal render of the mothership!

#156

here is the foreground plate…

#157

her is the composite pic. i divided the pic into separate layers, rendered and assembled all in photoshop. It took approximately 6-7 render hours to complete.
I will add some post effects & give fresher look tomorrow
What do you think??

#158

Hey Taavi,
Nice job with this. The composite looks great.
Mike
