Grand Space Opera 3D Entry: Richard LaBrie

#361

Still not quite perfect but adding the curvatures did not help much

#362

Texturing update.

#363

Now that the textures are more aligned I started on refining them a bit. I got a nice metal texture I think for the blueish grey area. More tweaking still needed.

#364

Alot of little fixes needed after applying the meshsmooth. I like the way this is coming out very much.

#365

More modeling and texture mapping. I added two knobs and started on a dial.

#366

Fixed alot of little UVW glitches. Modeled out speakers and other minor modeling tweaks.

#367

Getting the Ambient and lighting done.

#368

Awesome work man! Very cool monitor… very cool!

Keep going!

#369

Here is a much better developed panorama of the Terran Space Station

I hope you enjoy this. It shows off the texturing a bit more while giving you a view from all sides.

#370

A texturing update of the A-19 Assimilator (Frigate Class Deployer) Many little tweaks in round two of texturing. Tightening down the maps over all. Mainly around the docking bays, guns, bridge and wings (ie planet killer cannons).

#371

assimilator is very nice really looks alien very good job keep it up mate:thumbsup:

#372

Hey ||) |V| |^|, you’re moving way to fast man!
I find the alien ships quite impressive (the assimilator looks quite large!!)
Also watched the video with the retouch on the textures…I think you’re on track with it but maybe a little less color would look fine…

You’re moving quite fast there mate!! How about a family photo of AAAALLL your ships lined up! :bounce:

#373

Thanks for the support guys. Ask and yea shall recieve…

#374

An update to the Epsilon Mark III Terran Star Fighter. I was just not chillin with the texture mapping or modeling at that time. I was to mentally into the alien craft to take my time on it. So here is a much needed update to its appearance.

#375

 This is now the largest fleet in all the universe…I mean all will be conquered by this fleet…What a wonderful work flow, all coming from the excellent foundation set way back when…a great amount of effort, and it shows many times over here Richard…I am just here to applaud your efforts, and to cheer you on to the finish line…Plus with that fleet of yours my Scalawags want to be as friendly with you and your forces as is possible…Your doing a he-man job,and done with wonderful execution…Keep it coming strong and in that fastlane reserved only for the finer projects…:applause: :buttrock:

#376

Getting things aligned for new mapping.

#377

Thanks virtuoso. As always your thouroghly encouraging words further motivate forward motion. Since this contest has begun, with the help of those whom have supported me throught I must say I feel like I have grown 10,000 fold as an artist. I also realize I truely love building star craft. I have rekindled my passion for all things CG. I have learned and hopefully taught. To me as beautiful as it would be to cross that finish line the winner, I feel I have already won through the participation and feedback recieved on this course.

More to come…

PS: Your scallawags can exist in my universe anytime they want  as long as they take over other peoples planets, not ours, hehe…

#378

Well there are many diferent victories within a challenge such as this…Some in my opinion more important than the official ones…your work has effort and passion written all over it…Working with guys like you on any project would be like cake…talent and passion with great attitudes…cant be beat, someday this could very well happen…Keep at it strong and with your obvious love, that is the biggest victory of them all…All the extras will come in time beyond this…Now go go go…Richard…:arteest:

#379

Reduced the meshsmooting, I think I like the pointier edged look of this. More polygonal vs the smoothness of the alien vessels.

#380

Yes it does work,I think this is the ticket Richard…man go go go,you are a machine…:arteest:
