Well… Hello, hi, good day, good afternoon, good evening, Whatzzzzzzzzzz up, Yo, whatz hang, respect, word or Sir-Yes-Sir. Well welcome to my thread, pull up a chair make some tea or coffee cuz u are going to have to wait a while 
I have a show reel due in 3 weeks so I cant give much time to this project at the mo, BUT… yes the proverbial but, I wish to post some idea’s and get some feed back ( if u would grace me with ur pearl’s of creativity) so here I go…
History: some wise guy said “if we dont learn from the past, we die in the past”
So my mind is running around like a kid on a jungle gym with this idea. But here is the basic,
OK the Set, lounge on a space ship (think Star-Trek type set) man reading a news paper, right in front of a big bay window. U can see stars, plants and Milky Way look-a-like thing out the window. Now the main focus on the news paper with the heading The Greatest disasters, Both in one day I will have two of greatest disasters that we (the human race) have had, I havent decided which one yet, but it will fit into the future times i.e. instead of the twin towers being Bombed by planes, I will have a space station that looks like the towers but being flowing into with space ships. (I am sorry if this offense any1, but its the greatest disaster I can think of ATM) So u can see history is repeating it self. Then also out side the window u can see then name of the space ship on the hull, the TITANIC II

oritey rite… now god is truely weird… how come he gave the same sort of idea to more then one ppl at the same time… first of all, buddy u got a gr8 basic concept…i had this idea but mine got another twist… my version was like there wud b a ship called TITANIC whitch wud b huge and while earth is in parel it will farry huge number of people but b4 it can reach a safe distence it gets blowen up by an alien laser/torpido blast… good thing is i ditched that idea and going for even bigger desaster (i guess) well u can carry on with this one or u can talk to KOryH dude… he says he got something to do with TITANIC too… ority c ya l8r m outa here… and i’ll keep my eyes on this thread… cant wait to c a fat titanic spaceship blowing up…muhahaha :bounce:

Cool Idea. BTW it should be at least Titanic III there already is a Titanic II.
Anyway, I think I will be going in a different direction, so no worries!

well i have been reading the offical Q&A for the challenge and i am dont think my idea is “EPIC” enough so i might have to drop it, but i have done a 5 min worth of a concept sketch so i will upload that later.
must think epic, must think epic…

hello hello again
ok i have been brain storming like a motherlover and have come up with a few more idea.
so give me some imput plz:
Idea 1: Pawns of war
Great interstellar space fight, Two great armies battling it out. yet made out of the star’s other side of this battle is a silhouette of two god like figures (shoulders and head) looking on over the battle. and on the battle field the stars all so make a silhouette of a chess board
Idea 2: Suprise Attack
Forground is A Defence turret on top of a cliff look over a peaceful looking city. in front of the turret is a man having a cigaret. And then in the sky a Huge invading army breaks through the clouds (Think independance day)
Idea 3: The big button***
Scene: the Control room of the battleship. Huge screen Showing the battle happening outside the ship. Foreground, a battle worn control room, with spark and flames everywhere. On the floor is a Human holding closed wound with one hand and the other about to press a button titled “Fire Nuke” or “self-destruct”, but standing over the human is an alien pointing a gun straight at her forehead.
***- this idea i have offered to Shane Maness aka Viridian frist cuz i did get this idea when looking at his work, but i have to say that i think my idea is different enough from his anyway not to worry about “copying” but its the right and polite thing to do. here is his link Click here

OK another thought what aboout mixing the second coming of christ, i dont think any1 has gone that route, Any1 know the bible passage that refers to it and any artworks worth looking at for idea’s and ref, want to do some proper research

You’re being too modest. It is your idea… and an original one at that. I’d like to see it realized.
I think, as artists, we all sorta ‘feed’ off one another. This is probably the largest vat of science-fiction ideas ever created. (I love it. :))
There should definately be more contests like this one.
If I can come up with any ideas I’ll post 'em.

OK this IS my final Idea and i guess i am going to stick with it,
ok i seam to be having upload problems here at work so i will upload tomorrow when i get home. I guess bad things do come in 3 (1: Made a nice sized hole in the wall at work, 2: got a caught by a speeding camera doing +/-140km in a 60km zone, and now the internet dosen’t work)

“Blaine the Squad Leader looked through his binocular’s, surveying the mutant race on the horizon. He noticed an obese feminine-shaped creature that was starting to get too close to the fort. ‘Lt. Jake, take out Rosie O’Donell over there.’ He ordered with a smirk.As he was about to stand, a swarm of bullets came flying over his head. He threw himself to the round. With his face pressed firmly in the dirt he started to realize he was fighting a losing battle. He tossed a grenade on the battle field, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, BANG, That was his chance! He stood up and ran into the caves where the woman, children and hurt were seeking refuge. Now in the dark cave lit by only a few candles, he looked over the injured and dead, his heart sank, how was he to tell everyone here that they were going to die today. At that point any hope he had drained from him, and he fell to his knees. He placed his head in his hands. All he could hear was crying. At first he couldn’t tell if it was him.Yet he didn’t have the energy or power to cry, he felt utterly drained. Looking to his left he saw a baby wrapped in a blood-stained blanket, next to the body of what could only be the infant’s deceased mother. Blaine looked into the baby’s eyes and didn’t see fear, he only saw courage there, as though the child was trying to say ‘I will live to see my mother avenged’. Because of it’s complete willingness to survive Blaine couldn’t do naught but think of a way to save the infant’s life. At that point he was full of life again. He grabbed the closest HSD (Human Service Droid), that was standing there attending to the injuired. “Droid, you have new order’s, you must keep this baby alive at all cost’s” After thrusting the bundle into the Droid’s metallic arms, he stood up to his full height, reloaded his gun and ran back to the battle field at full pace.”
It was the year 2087…
Nobody is sure who did it, no one has a clue where it came from, not a soul knows how it happened… but it happened. A nucleur explosion.Yet everyone fired back, if it can be called world war 3 or the war to end all wars or plain retaliation. it was over as soon as it started.
The holocast happened so fast the surrounding colonies couldnt and didn’t recieve any warning or information regarding the blackest day in the world’s history. The colonies, now in the dark, started to wonder and worry what happend to the signals with earth. So they contacted the closest mother ship to Earth. This mothership flew under the banner the “Messiah”. As soon as she recieved her orders, she jumped into HyperSpace.
As the “Messiah” blinked back into existence at the end of the worm hole, it plotted it’s 5 day course to Earth. As the standard procedure she deployed a scout pod, consisting of a marine squad and a robotic support team, to find a suitable landing spot and secure the area. It took the pod 2 days to reach it’s target. As the pod approached Earth the first thing it noticed was that it’s face had totally changed; The nucleur war had not only increased the hole in the ozone layer but made a completely new one too, thus melting the ice caps which flooded almost every inch of earth, and any peak that was left exposed was now dry and barren.
With 3 days until the “Messiah” would reach them, the scouting party ordered the robotic support team to make camp as the squad surveyed the area. The squad found a group of survivors burrowed into the mountain range. From them they learnt that the human race had changed, the majority of the remaining world population had become crazed, disfigured and violent. The survivors had been attacked daily and each time lost a large portion of what few men, woman and childern stood before the sqaud. So the team broke down base camp and started to fortify around the burrow. Now only 2 days till the “Messiah” would arrive they could do nothing but wait. On the first day the mutant force attacked and was repelled. This only got the mutant force to rally at the base of the burrow, and at the crack of dawn the following day they pushed and over-run the fort…
High above earth the “Messiah” scanned the earth for the squad’s life signs to find nothing but a single signal from a lone support robot…

OK, now to explain this image…
1st: the Drone (bottom): he is a humanod style drone, he will be damaged and weathered looking. he will be holding a bundle with a baby’s arm sticking out. i plan to make the drone in the same style of I-Robot but will a celt feel, i want the robot to be able to show emation in it’s face, so the I-Robot style will be a bit hard to avoid.
2nd: the Spaceship, Its basic shape is that of a cross. You will see all the pipes, bits and pieces of the underbelly of the ship and out of the pipes and stuff u will be able to see a body, but hopefully only on second glance.

you have a very symbolic piece there, should be quite interesting how it comes out. I agree its difficult to show emotions on a robot face. I think with the head tilted and shadows on the face, that body language alone shows alot of emotion.
