The light curve it supose to be the same for all planets, it seems to have different light source for the planet in the back. cam you put also sone yellow reflection from the worm hole to the planets. good work [ bafta ].
keetmun - Thanks Wong! I hope it will come smooth enought by the end. If I
ll use the snake they will emerge from wormhole, and from theirs mouth will flood the alien fighters. I
ll do the textures first and then, if Ill have enough time, I
ll put the fire snakes in the scene. If not, Ill use only one type of alien ships.
essencedesign - Thanks Jeremy! We
ve donne (me and my machine) all the best we could. Yea, Ill start texturing the ships.
sandu22 - Thanks sandu22! The planets in the back are far beyond the wormhole. The wormhole act like a flashlight. Maybe on the main planet. I`ll test that.
Many thanks guys for your opinions. Helps a lot.
Ahhhh this is the ticket! Nice work here Pro, I’ve been waiting for that complete scene!! Looks like it should be awsome, I really hope you finish in time. The wormhole looks cool with the ships infront of it. The whole scene looks busy now too, very ‘operatic’
t know why are these people using checkes to setup the mapping. It may help you to see the misteked, maybe. But i have never used that tehchnique, and my mapping is perfect, so it cant be so important. And ich you are mapping right with preview of the texture for the object, you will directly see what`s wrong and right, so you can save time. And somethimes you will also miss some nice combinations and stiches if you only use checker insteed of proper texture;-)
A quick texturing test.I was very curious how will look like.
s just a test because Im not sure yet about the dominant colour for the destroyer, I`ll have to finish building the UV maps and the small modeling details are not donne yet.
So, still a long way to go.
M477 - Thank you very much Matthew for your interest and your kind words. I
m glad you like it. I hope Ill be able to catch the furious, savage and rabid attack feeling for the alien ships emerging from the wormhole.
Right now i
m struggling with UV mapping and textures. Darkone2652 - Yes Peter, its possible you
re right. Sometimes helps you texturing your mesh, sometimes helps others to see what youve donne. I though it was a good thing to show what I`ve donne (good or bad).
The alien ships will look like this.
I`m not a hypervoxelniac.
I see the aliens emerging from their wormhole like fire tongues.
These are sprite hypervoxels. Here the fire effects are a little to big, and there will be smaller to save render time too.
alien ships ae very good, I like the painting spirit of it. I’m waiting to see this all together;) good luck!
Thanks Artur. I didn
t want to use a shiny metallic surface for alien ships. Hope Ill finish in time. The deadline is so close.
A Hole in the Sky

Amazing Final Image Radu…you should be very proud you came up with a great concept and saw it through to a final image that looks great…just wanted to say congats to you…
Well done Radu, the final image looks awsome! Will you be teleporting me one of those ships now?? Good luck! :deal:
Nicely done Radu. Great motion to your image. I have to admit I could barely tell those were ships coming out of the portal. After enlarging it I could tho. Very cool concept. Keep up the good work. GL in the judging round!
Hi Radu! Very nice image you have created here The worm hole looks very deep and angry nice job that works really well.Good textures on your ships too looks good. The image has good depth i think and has me looking over it in search of things happening in the distance.
I hope you do well with this good luck my friend
Hey congrats on the final, it really looks kickass. Love the ‘firehole’ and snakes. Good stuff! All the best with voting!
First time I have seen your thread, sorry I missed this one during the contest. I like your final image sort of Lord of the rings the space opera version. I like the detailing on the main ship in the foreground.

My only regret is that I hadn`t time enoght to visit the many, many cool and interesting entries in this challange.
The theme was a generous one, and now, when all is finished I have more time to visit and enjoy others work.
And there are a lot of entries here, which are so enjojable for eye and spirit and from which I can have something to learh.
