Latest Update: Modeling: peope wip

Haven’t done much since last update, I’ve modelled few heads and painted simple textures.
Foreground will consist of 4-5 people. No guns, no armor or other military stuff.

As you can see there is alot to do, especialy with neck and hand anatomy. But this can wait, now I want to start modelling what’s in background: spaceships.

I am thinking also about giant flying platform in the centre of camera, something like cylindrical-shaped space parking lot.

Hi all
here’s rough sketch of my idea.

Great migration of mankind. Conquering new planet. Few soldiers in front of ‘camera’ and alot of cosmic stuff behind them: cargo ships, small war ships etc and a huge mother-ship. Maybe I will add blurred figures of aliens in front of those soldiers - an encounter with inhabitants of the planet.

#3

nice sketch, i only recommend you make poses for the character to make it more dynamic, i think it will be great piece.

rock on mate

#4

Ive started modeling body today. Those spacemen will be ‘men in tights’ Each character in scene will have diffrent body.

#5

Hello. Here’s update of soldier, suit still needs alot of tweaking, then I will add details like belt etc.

#6

Looking good! My only crits are that the abdomen is too long and the thighs too short, IMO. The hands also look a little funny (too small, maybe?).

Great work so far .

Cheers,

#7

Thanks for comments. I’ve tweaked suit, changed proportions of body and remodelled hands. Suit still needs more tweaking and details like ‘wrinkles’, pockets…

cheers
leon

#8

I’ve added some stuff like bag, backpacks. I’m still not satisfied how his clothes look like, so there will be more changes. When I finish modelling this guy I’ll post some concepts of spaceships.

#9

such a nice models already! keep up the good work!
I really like the compositon, humanoids in front, ships in the back… make those brave soldiers look like the men of steal, you know, heroes that have seen whole universe and now have come to this new home!!

#10

Really good modelling

#11

Didn’t have much free time lately.
Just a simple shader test.

cheers,

I love the last render. I can see that this is going to look really nice once finished! There are a few things that stick out in the last render, one is the neck which looks twisted, and two is the reflection on the visor. Is that trees?

Nice work though! I’m sure the final result is gonna rock!

#13

simply wonderful…i like the colors and the added details around the joints in the suit…the visor looks mechanically sound but the neck does look a little odd like chadtheartist stated

keep it up i want to see more:bounce:

#14

Yes neck is twisted because of my ‘ultrafast’ rig  Chad: Yep, trees. There is a texture of forest as environment (for reflection) just to test glass shader. Scene lighted with 1 area and 2 spot lights.

#15

very cool… you work really fast… models look great

what app are u using?

#16

very nice piotrek. What did you use to render the last shot?

#17

You are fast! really nice work!! very clean, it´s like a flash gordon style ! Good luck!

#18

thanks  I’m using 3ds max and splutterfish Brazil to render.

#19

Great modeling -two thumbs up.

I have some doubts about overal conception- it seems to be a bit like all these american heroic movie posters. It’s nothing wrong (in fact it might be an advantage considering how iconic that type of composition became) but I’d say it’s a pity to waste such a good models for a passe composition.

The pilot looks great. I too think that finding good composition in 3d space is easier than on paper. looking good.
