hi my friends…

@ nuclearman: thanks again Michael for your great advice… you have a great merit that ship texturing comes out so successfully! and thanks for very useful links!!!

@ terraarc: thanks for compliments Mike  and i’m very glad your finding that the ship reflects its name!!

@ LuisNCT: thank you Luis for your tip! your absolutely right that i posted too much almost the same pics… all the more with such damned sign… i really didn’t pay proper attention to that… i think because i do not believe in signs… i believe in God…
but anyway i can’t post renders of other views cos ship is textured only from bottom side so far… hope in the nearest future post some updates… thanks again mate for good point!

@ taz23: i’m very glad that my suggestion was useful. and thank you very much for reading my huge story… i thought no one will read it cos of huge size and terrible spelling… and i’m a twice glad that you found my story beautiful! thanks again Mihai and i’m looking forward to see development of your great stuff!

@ Virtuoso: nice to see you Michael !!! thank you very much for observation of my textures and encouragement! and i’m very glad that you think they suit well! yeah… i have to work hard… scene is going to be very complex and i still have to do a lot in every aspect of the work… would be really great as you said “keep at it full steam”…
thanks again my friend!

@ Deadly Force: thanks Norman !! i’m pretty sure you can’t imagine how glad i am to hear that ship is looking strange! soon i hope to throw in some updates… thank you very much for boosting me!

well… thank you very much guys for all great support and encouragement ! and i can’t overestimate all the importance of your crits/comments and great points! thanks again!!!

The last update looks awsome! Great texture and modeling - keep it up!

#183

don’t have a chance to read the whole thread, but I really like what I have seen so far, at any I am now subscribed

#184

Hi Paul,

looks great, especially the #3 imho… what about some red glows of the red areas?
Did u ever tried some less transparent areas at the edges with a falloff? Not really transparent, but only a touch of it - cause it looks like as real hard rock- i think a litte bit more organic would be great…but if the stone is your direction, it is perfect…
Can’t await to see updates…:bounce:

#185

hi and sorry for late replay guys…

@ Gunilla: …thanks man!

@ flyingP:

at any I am now subscribed
 …thanks mate! … i am for your too  great stuff btw!!!

@ Saschi0815: …thanks Sascha! yeah… it needs red glow for sure and i have to start setting it up… thanks for reminding! i really didn’t think about it…
as for ship i honestly don’t know what kind of materials it’s made from… have no idea… some mix of rock and flesh… yeah… if i decided to make look like there is some flesh i must add transparency… but really don’t know…

i’m not saticfied how it looks now… textures are ok… even without organics it looks ok and when needed i can add/change shading at any time… but it somehow doesn’t looks big… now i’m adding some smaller details to check how it will work… tomorrow hope post some updates and wait for public feedback and crit to get any idea what to do with it
thanks again Sascha for good crit and support!

thanks guys again !!! absolutely neccessery support and encouragement!!! all the more considering that i’m almost always in the creative vacuum :buttrock:

untill later and cheers

Hey Paul, just finally had a chance to catch back up with your progress. Your “Hellbringer” is certainly looking very much like it’s namesake (you must really like playing with textures); interesting new backstory/concept as well.

#187

Dang you’re good with textures! Wish I had your texturing skill…

Good stuff mate!
:buttrock:

#188

@ ArtisticVisions: thank you very much Jason! i’m very glad your finding it expressive! and thanks for reading backstory!

@ keetmun: thanks for compliment friend! your doing great stuff as well!

thank you guys a lot for comments and encouragement!!
untill later and cheers…

Hi all…
Here is another texturing part of ‘Hellbringer’… I really don’t know how to call it… In fact this is the @$$hole of the ship :-)))) where from it erupts plasma fireballs :-))))
Well… whatever it is it’s here…
Later I’ll post renders of the entire ship (I’m adding some minor details to it)…
Thank you for watching and reading…
Any crit is more than welcome…
Cheers…

#190

Hi again…
Here is first test render of entire ‘Hellbringer’… I’ve added some minor details to the ship… Crits and comments are needed much… about one thing I’m sure that I have to make propulsion strips more noisy… that means I have to make new version of the shader and I’ll do that in the nearest future…
C&C are really very needed…
Thank you in advance and cheers!
P.S. image size is 1024x512 so you can click to see original image…

Very cool design, Paul! Not much to add, but I would suggest experimenting with a volumic light under Hellbringer, or checking out one of Trapcode’s plugins if you’ve got an AE-compatible compositing program.

#192

Paul, this is the Trapcode plugin I was thinking of:

#193

hi Michael…
thanks for good link friend but unfortunately i don’t have neither AE nor combustion… i do all my effects and stuff in max and composite it in adobe premiere… anyway thanks again for useful link…
as for ship sure i have to add volumetric light and stuff but a bit later… when i’ll start to setting up particles for plasma fireballs… i think it would be easier to set it up when i’ll have all neccessery objects/particles complitely ready…
thank you one more time for your support and help Michael…

#194

man your project looks so outstanding!
nothing to crit!

Although I’d probably add some more spikes to the lower tentacles of the
or maybe some teeth kinda things to the lower “whole” it would look a lot more dangerous… and they could cast some interesting shadows onto it’s surface!

good luck!

#195

• Your model looks cool, but i think it is too dark, if it will be in open space i will look as a black spot, light it a bit so textures can be appreciated

keep it up mate!

#196

 I like the look of the hellbringer thingy… organic, spiky and lumpy, yet with a definite vessel character. I agree with Climax about lights though… one thing to consider might perhaps be to add some luminous details to other parts as well, but another colour than red to make it clear it’s different. A cold cyan hue would go well with the propulsion red me thinks.

#197

Looks like a really original ship you got there. Just a big too dark perhaps, like climax said.
Anyway good luck with it looks good:thumbsup:

#198

I like the Hellbringer just the way it is right now, with a not really defined shape (under textures) just a heavy shadow. But I really am curious on how it’ll look considering JamesMK suggestion.

Keep it up
:wavey:

thanks a lot man! i think your right as about more spikes as well as about ‘teeth kinda things’ and shadows… i’ll try to add them… thank you very much for good ideas!

@ Climax:

thanks a lot Omar! despite the fact that action should take place on the planet surface your complitely right… it’s too dark… maybe because i work at night and in the dark it looked for me not so black… although in the scene ‘hellbringer’ should look exactly like black spot now it’s too dark… thank you very much my friend for good crit!

thank you very much James! yeah… your right… it needs some luminous spots on other parts… i tried to add but without success… probably cos i choose wrong shape for them… your also right about cold cyan hue… it will suit well but i don’t want the ship look fancy… even a bit… i’d like keep it hot… and gloomy… i’ll try some slightly greenish yellow color… anyway i’ll post renders with cyan spots as well so we can see and decide what works best… thanks again for good advice!

@ d-tox:

Just a big too dark perhaps, like climax said.
yeah… i agree… thanks a lot for your comment!

thank you very much Mike! yeah… ship should look exactly as you said with not really defined shape and heavy shadow but now i have to agree with folk it’s abit much… well… we’ll see other renders including advice from James and decide what suits the best…
thanks again friend!

well… a ton of thanks to all of you guys for your kind words, very constructive crit and excellent advices! i’m very grateful for your support and encouragement! and i’ll try to consider all great points you mentioned…
thanks again and cheers…
