Virtuoso - Thanks alot man for your continuing support & suggest & encouragement through the whole process! Really appreciate every word you say! I started looking into white robes with the Council Member … :wip: …and it seems to work well! Thanks again!

Tranchefeux - Thanks for your support mate! Keep it strong with your project coloring!! :bounce:

SpitFire looks very promising! I would increase speculars of the middl epart of it, to make it more metallic.

Great glow in the engine! is it painted texture, or some 3d trick?

#143

hi…i think this ship is looking really cool i love how it looks from the side…nice work…
about the council memeber…i think youre doing it fine… this guy is going to look even better when he get poed…maybe u can cross his arms and cover the gloves with a big sleeves…i read some one was suggesting about doing him taller…and i think thats a good idea…
the work on the hair is great…he just need a few details to be fixed…i think his posture can give him a lot of personality too…ill be watchin your nice work friend…

#144

Great updates m8. You seem to have a great handle on the texturing of this craft. Has a very human feel to it. I will be looking for more, especially since I am stuck watching from the sidelines for the moment, btw if anyone sees Bill Gates in the near future please assassinate his ass for me eh? Damn winblowsitsselfuptomuchtocaregrrrrrrrrr.

#145

The latest update of the Spit is really fantastic man… I love it… maybe more transpancies for the canopy… but if there’s nothing inside… you can keep like that…

today, no 3d for me…
I’m just here for only one thing… and certainly the most important for you today ->

I wish you to have a real good fiesta with all your friends and familiy…

and for sure… UN JOYEUX ANNIVERSAIRE DE FRANCE :bounce:

#146

I’m done texturing this one. I’ve changed the specular of the metallic parts and increased the color on the pilot glass (sorry…nothing inside!).
I also started working a bit on the FX of this one. Added some lights to fake electric glows on hull, added some emitters on wings and back propulsion and last but not least I played with the mental energy effect around the wings and on the propulsion system. The whole ship is glued and animate-able. That’s for now! C&C always welcomed

#147

Thanks everyone!

arturro - Thanks mate! I’ve changed the speculars in the metallic parts as you can see…maybe I’ll do it again when I put this baby in the final scene…The glow is a simple 3DS Max post FX

rattlesnake - Thanks for the support mate! The Council Member is at this point my weakness!! I’m ā€œtweakingā€ him for some time now and still nothing to show! The final pose is supposed to be rather static…but I’m always open to suggestions! I’ve thought of something more dynamic for him but not for this comp… Thanks again!

||) |V| |^| - Thanks man! Hope you’ll be back again soon! As for your problem I’d suggest taking a look at SUN submission thread (George Pourikas can’t find a link right now!)…he could give you a fair solution to your Bill Gates problem…

Lemog, my friend! Thank you a thousand times! Today I spent little time on 3D too…until NOW of course!!

OK,OK that’s for now! Coming later with some updates… :wavey:

Hi there terraarc!
Whoah, the SpitFire rocks man :buttrock: The new color of the glass is much better, love the glows and the mental energy around the wings, just superb! One crit dough, IMO you should add more bump to the ship textures, cause now its quite flat first view in the picture, but of course its not necisary if you will do the final render without the closeup of the ship.
Thumbs up!

#149

I like the engine emissions but I cannot say that the energy field looks quite right. Something about the shape I think bothers me. Anyway, just my opinion, otherwise it looks awesome man. Happy birthday and keep up the great work.

Hey Mike ,
Your story is very indepth , I will have to read it again . The models all look very good , you have a creative mind. I like the characters as well , I do think that some of the clothing on the characters are too monotone(single color). Try having several colors on one piece of clothing , I think this would help make them look a little more natural.
Again your doing a great job.
Mike

Very nice model, very believable, but I’m wondering what’re those strange bubble-like things surrounding you ship? Looks really strange to me, but maybe it’s because you haven’t finished that part yet.

In any case great work!Cheers!
:buttrock:

#152

great update with SpitFire Mike…! looks very futuristic…!
and most important… maybe it’s too late but anyway - Happy Birthday my Friend…!
keep going mate and cheers…

#153

ooh! I have to say that with textures your work just entered another level - wonderful! The colors, the athmospheric stuff makes it warm and a bit cartoony. Really nice - I like this a lot :applause:

#154

Hi Mike…Well another step forward, and a nice one.Congrats on the texture job,a very nice job, really nice color choice and the tones work well…Your putting in some great effort and real nice results to go with it…Keep it going, your Space opera is coming along real nicely…:arteest:

#155

Here is a second model of the defensive fleet. I like a lot the idea of this ship and I hope the image is quite explenatory. Also included a human figure dummy like a size reference. C&C always welcomed!

#156

Hello to everyone!

Kaksht - Thanks for the support mate! I think I’ll leave some tweaking on the texture for the final image…the time is really a pressure!!

||) |V| |^| - Thanks! Really appreciate your comments. The shape is rather temporal at this moment (basically a simple two sided mesh with a simple material over it and a noise applied to it…in case I hit some animation with this baby!!) I’m thinking of using some vertex painting for transparencies around…to make the shape more blurry and not that defined. Right now it’s more like a placeholder…Thanks again!

mmoir - Thanks for the encouragement! The character IS some problem to me at this point and it’s under a ā€œheavy tweakingā€ session as I write…appreciate your coloring suggestion…I’ll give a shot for sure!!

keetmun - Thanks! The bubbles is a humble start on exaust fumes… …I’ll definetely work more on this ā€œEffectā€ …thanks for pointing it out!

Paul, thanks for your kind words!!

Gunilla - Thanks mate!

Virtuoso - Thanks for continuous support!! :bounce:

Thanks to all again!! Keep on rockin’ CG- talkers!!

#157

quite ironic to associate a butterfly with something that destorys ;p

respect to the extra effort you put in to make the wings functional, very cool…

interested to see the textures on this… would it be anything like a butterfly?

#158

man can’t believe i missed your last update really cool texturing over there i like it a lot

and the butterfly bomber rocks awesome:thumbsup:

you are on the right track here keep em coming:bounce:

#159

Great update man. I love the step by step post of the butterfly. You can see that doing a work in progress this manor takes a bit of extra time eh? Hence the reason I had to stop for a bit to get some mad modeling done. It seems you have been quite busy working on great stuff. I look forward to seeing more as the days creap on forward and closer to the finish line.

#160

Very nice indeed. The step by step is cool… Are you planning on having several in the render in different phases of ā€œflappingā€?
