Mike, looking forward to seeing the detail work on the Hive. Hard to believe there are only fifty some-odd days left to get everything done!
Grand Space Opera 3D Entry: Mike Giannakopoulos
This is the Vulture, a two man rebel ship. This sship will be attacking the nearest island coming out from the Hive, along with some “Stingers”. I consider this state almost final (some optimization needs to be made) but always open in c&c!
More of the Hive: Modelling the front part and inside. The small red ship is a “Stinger”. Added control towers (up and down) and communication towers (left and right) with some details. Need some things to add in the upper tower and the inside and then I’ll be working on the middle and back. That’s it for now! Critiques and comments are always welcomed
nuclearman thanks for the support and reminder! When I’m thinking the staff I have in concept and want to model I get a panic-headache, also when I’ thinking all those staff that I don’t even have in concept … :banghead::banghead::banghead:
I have tons of staff to model and then all these tons to texture! I’m having a rough plan of another month of modelling and then focus on rest of texturing and composition. I wish I’ll make it on time!:shrug:

about Vulture i may suggest you to work a bit on the shader’s main properties such as speculars and glossiness… cos now it looks like car painted plastic for hi-fi system…

Mike, the detail work on the Hive looks really, really good. I’m less enthusiastic about the undercarriage of the Vulture, which is registering more as visual noise than as functional detail (some of this may be a product of the lighting and shader currently in use on the model, but the yellow stuff reminds me of a folded-up rubber bath mat).Anyway, the Hive gets full marks. Thumbs up, and have fun with the particles! 
…now… I hope to see quickly these models with textures… I find the Vultur very original… it make me feel a bird head… ![]()

the big ship is looking very nice…the sense of scale fits very nice to your concept…i think u will add lots of little lights to it…i can imagine the picture…

I think I’m done with the Hive. The perspective shown is almost the one that’ll be used in the final scene, so I didn’t over-do it with it’s back. Although I think that something is missing from the back side part of the hull, some really large wings with control rooms and turrets on. Open to C&C
Here is a new model for the defenders. I tried to differentiate the design of the two fleets so this one is not so curvy. It’s a one man ship that will be attacking to the Hive in dozens. The side wings carry lots of thrust power to provide more flight flexibility. C&C always welcomed!

Dropped by to check your progress. Like the hive ships - they have come a long way from your ealry models and really convey a sense of scale.
Spitfire dont match up in detail but I asume they still have work to do.
