Grand Space Opera 3D Entry: Mike Giannakopoulos

Hi terraarc

Some really great work here. I like your designs alot, especially the ships. Your latest image is very good, can’t think of much to crit. Maybe you could try getting some dirtmaps on there?

Really great work so far though, keep it up!

#182

I really love the last building man… <greek mode> Mprabo re patrida… poli kali douleia… </greek mode> rock on:buttrock:

#183

Hey Mike ,

The texture on the building looks very nice,I think once it is in the final scene it will fit seamlessly into the scene. I would maybe add a bit of color to the white exterior , just a thought.
Good job with this.
Mike

#184

the lights work really well to show off its size
textures are friggin awesome so far, waiting for more m8:buttrock:

#185

OK,OK…I’ve brought the textures to a final state (ver 1.0) at this time. That explains the “final” on image and Title. More texture tweaking will be done when all placed in a scene! Good thing is that almost everything in image is procedurals so the next buildings will quickly be textured, small extra job will be done if needed of course! Time to move on

#186

keetmun, Lelantos, Eagle_e7, icedeyes, mmoir, Versiden really, really thank you! And in greek of course “EYXAPISTW POLY!”.
Mmoir, appreciate your idea on dirtying things up! Fortunately I’ve predicted an extra level of noise just for that  I thought it looked OK with the color variation I’ve given (a tint blue and another tint dark orange) but, as I can see it rather looks white…so I’ll fix that when enter the composition or finalize scene lighting…

Some things went off in the final render, I’m reffering to the black rectangles in the middle of the construct, but I’ll try fixing them later (do you think it might be a memory issue? 'Cause I’ve assigned a certain texture to that area…)

Thanks to everyone again!!

Keep it coming faster and faster! :buttrock:

#187

hey that building looks very massive man I want to see it in the composition  Wish ya luck

#188

i like the mass of details at the building. hope th see it textured soon. keep it up!!

#189

UR LAST POST ROCKS!!!amazing detalied building!Im very interested about ur final entry!i’ll be back!Keep it up!Smart work!

#190

That building is shaping up very nicely my friend. Keep up the good work. I love it. W00t, rock on!:buttrock:

#191

Texture looks great, just one question: Is the right side of the building suppose to look plain white like that?

#192

Hi, eh! good texture on your lathe, congratulation, I awaits the
continuation, good road.

#193

Great work Terraarc. I’m anxious for more!

#194

Nice work on the textures!

Keep it up!

#195

Keep it coming strong Mike, your getting there, closer to that finishline.Lots of texture work and overall large scale you have here, but looks like you are getting it done, and done well…Best of luck as you get into the last 30% of the challenge…I’ll be watching, you know that.:arteest: :arteest:

#196

zzzaaannggg… great modeling… i couldnt model a building if a plug in did it for me… great job… lookin good on the rest of your picture! =)

#197

OK,OK…did a little retouching on the Concept. Removed several buildings…current count is up to six (already modeled 3)…Also tried to follow the thirds rule…ground point is defined by distant rock islands…C&C always welcomed!

#198

Hello everyone!

Divaise, MogodtBackAgain, -OZ-, ||) |V| |^|, ace4016, Tranchefeux, claudio_jordao, Eagle_e7, Virtuoso, vrhead thanks you all alot for your encouragement!!

The time is really pressing a lot!! :banghead:

As you see I’ve updated a little the concept…lower deck in front is to be used as a platfrom for taking off Butterfly Bombers…some pilots will also run to their ships while their commander will yell at them showing the Hive over about…

Hope the ground level is quite clear on the 2/5 of the image now too… (Please crit…)

My plans for today is to finish the red guy…(Council Member still depreciated…) So this guy is the Emperor…I want to finish the whole of him model and textures too today…so coming later with updates… :wip::arteest:

Keep on rockin’ everyone! :buttrock:

i like the sense of space in the composition - it gives a sense of real massivity (is that a word?). the building is great - but it needs something inequivicable to define precisely how big it actually is.

#200

HI there! Camera angle is great. It makes this scene very interesting. But I would change framing a bit. The top of the composition is too empty for me. I would move the upper right corner proporcionaly to the left and down, and this what because of that would dissapear I would move to the left… I hope that you undertood me, becasue I’ mnot sure if I can understand my description:)
