Grand Space Opera 3D Entry: Maximiliano Rocamora

#121

I started the Battlecruiser! For the modeling, I divide the model into several sections, Engine, Lower Body, Upper Body, Front, Control Tower, and Cannons. I started with the control tower, this area is very important because it gives a lot of personality to the ship. I’m going for a Alien Nostromo and Sulaco, my main inspiration. Its a bit early, but c&c are welcome as always.

#122

update, back view, this side is finished, it even not be seen by the camera, but I want to make the model with much detail as possible.

#123

update, front view, It still need some detail. But it almost finished.

#124

Last update before I start to adding the battlecruiser, also I start to make the picture bigger, so more detail can be seen. The position of the ships may vary but the concept its close to the main final idea. c&c are welcome.

#125

Very cool! Maybe this ee… octopus should wave some of its tentacles really vigorously, smashing some smaller fighter into pieces and some of the derbis (like parts part of the pilot cabin) fling is much closer to the camera ?? Anyway have fun

#126

…dude, can’t you see the fighter getting explodorised top left of the image? lol.

Looking sweet - so very very sweet.

#127

As for the space background, I would suggest toning down the glow on the dark side of the planet as it is supposed to be…dark. Also I would advice you to bring a greater variety to the brightness of the star field

Keep up the good work, and good luck dude!

#128

hahahah “explodorised” dude you make me laugh!! hahah I must add that word to my dictionary now!

moon, thanks, I’ll keep in mind that, and play with the glow settings later :arteest:

taavi, your idea is cool, but, with this point of view, is too hard to achieve that effect, at least for me, I may conform with the explodorised ship on the left. (if you press on the picture, you can see it at bigger resolution).

#129

lol man, didn’t you know?? Making up words is fun!

#130

That ship is getting great, keep on dude!!

#131

The control tower is finished, time to move to another area. maybe then engine, because it needs little detail only, it very far from camera. I will save some heavy polygon area for the front.
Thanks all for the support!

#137

#138

Hey there!
Very great control tower, cool details, like the antenas and pipes, thumbs up! Looks something like a deck on a cruise ship
Keep up the good work!

#139

really nice ! Modeling is great ! keep the faith !
The only comment I would do is that in my opinion, all the spaceships go in the same way… Should be nice if there’s something more chaotic in the flight of that group of spaceships…
