Very cool ideas.

Perhaps all three images would work together using a ‘montage’ effect?

Place the Emperor among the stars with his hand outstretched, grasping at worlds. Fade out about mid-way to depict the space scene. And finally, at the bottom in the foreground, row upon row of soldiers.

Maybe this for an idea. Use the octy attacking the ship in the midground. In the background have armies of Octies heading towards us, and in the near foreground have the humans armies looking on in horror!! This way you create 3 planes!

thank guys, the overall combining idea is cool, but is too much work for me, so I choose the Concept #5… I’ll post some concepts of the battlecruiser and the katar squid soon!

The poster idea looks nice - although, it almost feels as though it’s lacking the idea of any kind of turning point. The space squid concept has that idea :stuck_out_tongue: “We were on a routine patrol mission when some giant space squid starting sucking at the ship” o_O

This will be the final concept, maybe some color changes, ship positions or desing, more planets, star, etc. But this a close aproximation to the final idea.

hey great job!! I like the concept!! if I can suggest, I’d do the squid very very mechanical!(you know, there are a lot of mech animals, I mean in that style) can’t wait to see more! :thumbsup:

The Background

This is the retouched version of the background, I made it directly from max, theres is no photoshop on the picures or textures.
I used 3 pictures, the surface of mars, a stars picture, and a nebulae picture. I put them and corrected using Color Correct plugin, this is to see color instant feedback without going through PS.
The Planet is made from a sphere, and two Video Post filters, I use SCANLINE render to make only the background. One filter is Glow to make the yellow clouds and another Glow to make the atmosphere.
The space is a big sphere with inverted normals, one Blend Material, with the nebula and the stars material separated with a Noise Fractal mask. For the stars I use multiple speckle maps on the self ilumination map, and mix it with pure black. And the nebulae use a fallof PP to make the gradient from bottom left to upper right, again mixed with black.
I like the idea of a Deep Blue/Black space, with a strong contrast of the Orange/Yellow Planet. Maybe later, I make changes on the surface of the planet, to look more alien and less mars.

Just keep posting your new concept.

As far as the idea,… try and use ref. from Nazi era Germany,… particularly Hitler military rallies,… he was a master at designing awe-inspiring formations using large number of soldiers.

I would consider also trying a different angle to the composition as the “front” view is a little in active. I think with a more “extreme” and distorted perspective you could engage the viewer more.

Also it would make the whole fascist get together just that spookier.

The main idea is a mix between a cargo spaceship and a cargo truck. With the removable container. The main function of this ship is transport any kind of supply. weapons, fuel, medical, food, or wastes.

The back view and the container function. It still need geometry details, but the rest is texture, because you will see this ship from middle/far distance.

Hi, i really like the concept of the movie poster!! It can be very original! Like WazaRsayed, try to use reference from Nazi. Like the “propagenda” poster. (Good word? :blush: )

I dont know if I will add more detail, because this ship will stay at middle/far distance from camera. But maybe I will put some minor changes.

The squid “à la Jules Verne” is an original idea… I also liked a lot the movie poster approach.

sorry about that double, but I delete the pict coz this is my first challenge, and I link the images instead of submit them, so I submit again in the good way, and delete the double picture post.

thanks 4 the reply, a lot of people like the poster too, but I feel more confidence the verne’s squid, and my only goal its only try to make a picture from beginning to end. So I choose more boxy spaceship instead high res characters :rolleyes:

I like the idea of the movie poster and your model of the cargo ship is great. Just a comment the colors on the cargo ship seem very bright , is this how it is going to be in the final.

seems everyone is going back and forth about your concepts so I’ll add my 2 centZ…I really was drawn towords the one wih the octosquid …it was very original…and I really think that ones forst Idea can usually be their best…keep going with that one ,you’ll kick some aSS
