You know, that long fins give the impression of a shape similar to a crossbow ;). Especially in top views.

ila_solomon : … thanks?

Lemog : thank you ! I’ll try, I’ll try!

azazel : crossbow, door handle, helicopter… as long as it doesn’t look like a star wars ship I’m glad

jaba153 : merci !

#151

ok, that comment was just more than I could take. I’ll change strategy and actually work myself.
just bring it on, you wont stand a chance… :wise:

Wow, that’s what I call an epic space opera. Absolutely fantastic. I will definitely follow this thread.
Can’t wait to see more.

Hi m@,

really nice concept, it’s a shame i didn’t notice your thread before…

It remind me a comic book you may know, “La Caste des Meta-Barons”, in which there is space-whales used as interstellar ships ([french mode…] plutôt des cachalots dans la BD mais je ne connais pas le nom en anglais [off]).

Great concept sketches :buttrock:

#154

well I started working on a lowpoly model of some structures on earth’s surface for my composition sketch when I got carried away around a bit, found myself trying to model using only convex hexagons. Anyway that’s quite an idea of some patterns that will be seen everywherer in my piece. (image done byduplicating the surface and putting a lattice modifier in max, so those lines are the wireframe with a little volume)

#155

fellah : gooood … if those are not only words

Russel_Nash : thank you

nataz : thanks… and yes I know, whale’s form go well with space. But as you see I’m little by little drifting away from the whale shape.

#156

Good whale.
But… the yellow stuff of the whales seems “strange”.

…Probably because it is not finished yet.

Good luck!

#157

wow haxagonal modeling, thats very interesting and new to me… kep going buddy cant wait to c more… and can u please tell us more abt ur technique?..thanx

#158

Just done viewing your pictures and I must say this is the most emotive piece I’ve seen so far. I just get a really beautiful feeling looking at your work. Can’t really explain it. But it’s just beautiful.

Cheers

Quite impressing little simple thing! Really breathing out “I’m alive!Alive!” :applause:

Impressing texture! Maybe a little glow will pure some more life to it:)
