Grand Space Opera 3D Entry: Martin Brennand
Hi Martin,
Considering you have only two months, you have ti push it hard.
Youre right considering that "Even the kickass prizes can't compare to the wealth of knowledge I pick up struggling through this challange" Its available for me too.
I like your first concept sketch. Its mysterious. Dont forget the huge spaces in the background.
Good luck and have inspiration!!!
Blocking out the main hall for the scene. The main concept will be trying to blend futuristic space elements with Traditional japanese design. Still nutting that bit out.
Cool design. You will have alot of interesting shadows to play with. Itâll be great to see the mix of Old Japanese and futuristic design.
Canât wait to see what a ânebulus crystalâ looks like.
Thanks zem. Yeah, the lighting in this is going to be a real pain!
I just saw Steam Boy last night, so Iâm inspired to put lots of gears everywhere, but Iâll resist!
OK, Iâm with you now about the thight fit dark clothes⌠A bit like the nihilists in âBig Lebowskiâ right?
Maybe you could give them funny hats/helmets too (assuming youâve seen the movie in question of course) - keep whacking those polys :wip:
Thanks for your comments, I have reviewed your work, and as you posted the detail add so much life to the models, so they donât see like paper pieces. You must think for this as if you were to create all this within a studio, and start to think as a designer. Put some pieces here and there, but search a background story for all the elements so that way you can make some more realistic touches to all your work.
Havenât had much time, but still perservering. Just some work on the assasin today. Comments on topology appreciated.
erilaz - Iâm not a 3d person, so I canât offer much in the way of hints or tips - but I can offer support! I love your basic idea and think you are on the right track here. I canât wait to see where you take it. Good luck and keep at it!!
