Grand Space Opera 3D Entry: Mark Vorster

That’s exactly what I felt when I saw the picture : this looks great but it gives me the feeling of looking at a close up of a sand ground with some little stone here and there. You should try to change the grain of the sand, to make it almost invisible, and add details on the rock textures so that we can think those are much larger pieces.

I will basing my main character off one of my old sketchs, more to come as soon as I get my scanner to work.

Your view of the terrain is so realistic! Can’t wait to see how it evolves.

Great start, try to post a few more concepts, I cant really see where your going at the moment.

Keep it up!

sorry about the lack of updates, a fellow worker has gone to Egypt for a vacation, so I have been too busy doin her workload and mine and during that time all I can think about is this challenge and how much has to be done, damn I wish I didn’t have to work and I free to hone my Maya skills.

Will be back soon (most likey end of the week)

Dae

Looking good! very realistic screen. Just one thought: perhaps the scene of the sun behind the planet with a lens flare is a little too used… Maybe you would like to try another angle. Some concept art of the final scene will also work. Anyway, its a great work! I will be cheking your thread!
