Grand Space Opera 3D Entry: Kurt Boutilier

#41

Looks like solid modeling to me… hard to come up with any crits at this point - tagging along for the next update…

#42

Well, Kurt, i’m liking it so far!!

#43

great helmet!
wireframe shots ?

#44

Thanks guys I’ll try and post up some wires tomorrow… the armour will change a lot I hope… Have some ideas running around in my head for it.

#45

Wire you wanted to see.

Kurt

#46

This is way cool hero u are making…:bounce:   .Thanks for the wire pic…

#47

Reminds me a bit of the monster of Lochness. Good luck!

#48

looking good so far. The helmet could be slightly larger though, the current size looks to close to the head… making the helmet look really thin. More updates!! :bounce:

#49

I think that soldier could use a bit less ‘generic’ face - something with more ‘attitude’, more ‘character’. He has to be a hero, not some unidentified soldier, doesn’t he ?

#50

Thanks for the input… I was thinking along the same lines for the helmit I’ll be adding a lot of stuff to to it soon should help wiht the size issuse.

azazel… yeap on that too was thing of making him have more of a hard line jaw like judge dred.

Will have updats soon…

thanks again for the crit.

#51

Played with his chin a bit made is a wider more tweaking to do to his face still. Slowly building up detail.

#52

Hi everyone need your opinions… Do you think the peice would work better in a city back drop more then the rocky one I had in the concept? I was thinking of making the creature a bit more decorated so it will look like they have some intenlligence like a modern race of these guys not just dumb creature.

Thanks all…

Hmm… backdrops…

You know, since you present those two alternatives - we’ll be seeing lots of rocky backdrops in this challenge. And we’ll be seeing lots of cities as well. My vote: combine it. A rocky city, perhaps houses carefully chiseled into the walls of mountains.

And the character is progressing very nicely - not much to crit at this point. Simply looks good.

#54

I’m agree with the opinion of James… combine both. Wonderful work until now !

#55

Yeah, i agree that a mixture of that 2 themes would work fine!!

#56

Thanks everyone… I’ll see what I can come up with…

#57

Had just a bit of time last night to work on the pants belt and legs a bit.

#58

nice modeling kurt continue :!

#59

Kurt! Your models are always so clean! I am interested to see where your concept is going to take you with this one. It has been a while since an update so I guess you have other things on. Keeping an eye out for you there brother!!

#60

Hey bud… Thanks for the comments on the mesh. I really try to keep them as clean as I can, makes life a lot easier come texturing time.

I haven’t had much time to play with this project last few days been busy with work. I’ll hopefully have time to do some more on him tomorrow like his boots or hands…
