Hi everybody,

well I’ve got an idea for the scene, but I’m still working on the composition, so I won’t post any pics of that right now, however I can show you a pic of one of the characters that will appear in the scene, an assault trooper. There’s a going to be a swarm of them in the scene, mostly in the BG - so this character will probably be modeled at medium rez.

anyway, so here’s the character, he’s a quick assault soldier, wearing a jump pack which is attached to his back and clamped onto his crotch (see codpiece), he wears a skin-tight flame retardent suit all over his body, and overtop of that he wears some light weight hardened leather armor - to protect him in case he falls (he might need a cushion).

I’m going for a bit of a retro look in this pic, glass domes over the head, big bulky armor, not to technologically complex.

I’m not much of a 2d artist so excuse the crappiness of the drawing. It’s inspired by some of Mike Mignola’s production sketches for Disney’s Atlantis.

Sounds promising … good to see you’re planning to actually compete. As for the sketch, maybe it’s not drawn as you would like to, but I think it is very infomative and a good start in preparation of modeling. Keep going!

#14

Holy detail, Dude! Your Assault Trooper is looking good.

This guy is awesome because he’s from VANCOOOOOUVER!:buttrock: (for those who don’t know, that’s in Canada, eh.)
