rough rough rough rough rough…concept. gonna add more detail obviously, but this is the general direction i want to take this project.
This is one of the ship types for the scene, specificly, the generic fighter used by the “bad” guys. i wanted a design that sort of look a little evil, and this came to mind. the main body isnt connected to the wings physicly, but rather thru some cool looking energy binders, which ill be adding later.
i kinda forgot to say this above, so ill do it now.
#1. this is my first cgtalk challenge ever, even my first post was the entry one up there…
#2. good luck to all the artists! ive learned so much from lurking about these parts, and you are all very talented. hopfully you all can give me a few pointers along the way.
Hey Jon!
First thing I wanted to say was welcome to CGtalk! This is THE best community to learn from and communicate with other like-minded individuals.
I like what you got so far, but my only concern is what’s going to be inside the ship? I like the dramatic “looking through the window” concept. I’m just curious as to what’s going to be inside the ship.
this is another generic fighter-type ship thingy, this time for the “good” guys. slightly less pointy. ect…
hey chad, thanks for the post =) your work is amazing
anywho, as for whats inside the ship. im still debating what to put there, which is why its not really detailed in the concept (hell, not much is). im mulling over a few ideas, ill probably sketch them out tomorow to see if i like any of them.
so heres some ideas:
people. just a few, maybe 3 or 4. i was thinking making them look shocked, perhaps a few gasping, or pointing, or both. they would be dressed in flowing white robes, so it would suggest a civilian ship.
another thought i had was to turn it into the bridge of a ship. several important looking consoles infront of/near the window, various indicator lights and warning displays. things to suggest a sense of immediate danger, or possibly destruction.
anyway, just some thoughts. maybe ill put up some more sketches if anything catches my eye.
I personally like the idea of people looking in disbelief in front of the window. As soon as you put anything inside that room it will immediately add scale to your image giving a better sense of how big or small things are. Keep going!
since i dont feel like really working on the scene, i decided i would try some explosions. every loves explosions. theres one or two in my scene, so i just wanted to tweak options to see what i could get.
so yeah, an explosion, pretty neat. i would do more if i wasnt busy with other things couchcounterstrikecough…um, yeah…i swear ill post more tomorow, or somthing.
