I feel camera2 is much better, closer to the action as you said… took the words right from me, hehe
great action man, keep it up…
would be cool to see some dead bodies too, maybe one of them trappled under that huge claw

Thank you again for the suggestions and comments guys…I think layout one is ofiicialy out of the running…just stay tuned here for a sec and I’ll have up a couple of more options…I’m crashing my Lightwave off and on modifying this scene…my main workstation is rendering some other stuff right now but that should be done in a day or two sO I can really put some stuff together in the Layout with textures and FX test ect…
Versidan
Definatly going to add a few dead bodys on the ground…as well as one or two being thrown through the air by a beast…
Patina
Thanks for the support…I’ll go check out you thread…
graga
bear with me my friend …these are just tests…although i agree that especialy the first angle dosen’t do much justice to these guys…thank you for the crit tough
artemesia66
thank you for the note…I was thinking the ssame…

I will try a birds eye style shot…but the higher I take the camera…the more “agents” I will need to add to the background…and unlike WETA I have a memory cap… :argh:
Kaksht
you have a good eye…I have many more poses built alrerady some with swords…some with blasters …some with spears thrown…so I will mix things up a bit…
rattlesnake
Thank you for your comments…but one question, where’s your updates dude…now I know in mexico christmas celibrations start early but you can’t leve those warriors without some one to fight…
OK here’s the “unique” custom aspect ratio I was talking about …I beleive it works well to tell a story and epic …and that’s what this contest is all about…plus it opens up a whole new area “Close” to the camera to show some more action …I think I am going to create Ta~GAG drop ships like I was thinkning for the sky scape …I have a vision of something like a flying crate…simple. ugly and purely functional…would work well for them…Anyways CC_Z PleaZ ))))
I like your last composition! Widescreen it is!
I think you should add some more height though…it seems to busy, so adding some nice clear sky might work well! The drop ship is a nice idea on showing off the vastness and proportions of the invaders!! :bounce:
Nice going!! Waiting for some version with textured models…just for :buttrock: !
Hey i just wanted to offer a little encouragement, you doing great and your models are beautiful! keep on goin!
yeah, I would stay with the last composition… It’s very good and gives more opportunities to show the details and different battle poses of your units, without making the composition too busy and chaotic. great!
This is a very busy yet interesting composition. I think you have alot of potential going here. I just feel sorry for the judges, as they will have to pick their absolute favorite… how could you with soooo many great choices to choose from… Great work. Keep it up man!
Thank you for the call on that guys…I to like this to look at…guess it would be us to CGChannel to figure out how to properly display an entry with a 2000 by 800 ratio…
I have one more I want to try…a POV from the General Ta`Gag in the battle nest looking over the battle field…will try that out this morning…also gonna show you all the modifyed Battle wagon here today…and Maybe do that drop ship thingie…peace and back to work everybodY…
Jeeze, back to modeling again on the milestone chart…I’m gonna speed model this sucker…I can usually do this mechanical Sh~t pretty quickly…bevel …extrude…boolean babY…
Modeled out an engine on some arm mechanincs…then cloned and mirrored…nothing to fancy just a cylinder with some bevel work…the arm pieces are done the way I do most of my mechanics…drawn out extruded polys with some boolean and bevel work…hydros aren’t really even attatched to anything…just added for “convincing” facter…and streched out the body a bit …better now i think…almost finished here…just going to add another 2 engine pieces to the underside along woth some mechanics…this thing will be in the distance and seen mostly from the underside so I’m going to add enouigh geometry so it catches some good highlights…but no usless details…
OK shoved a bunch of mechanincal things underneath because that is what will mostly be seen in the image…don’t bother that half of the pieces are not connected to anything …no time right now for unseen details…I’m streamlining…textures comming up soon…
Great ship design. Really feels like battle-ready tank. I’d lose the spikes on the front “bumper,” though. And maybe you could rethink the viewport thing. (The bound-to-physics part of me can’t help thinking that the the classic “tank slit” doesn’t quite fit the “space” requirements.)
Great modeling, tool. I love details.
Vance
lol, and I thought I wouldn’t see any of your legendary mech models in this entry. Underside looks great, waiting for the texturing.
hahah…yea me to,thought I’d be able to go cold turky…sorry I didn’t get to spend much time on the specifics of this one…but it’s a real Last MinutE additioN…about 3 hours effective…modeling and texturing…background model to fill in some of the depths of the sky…think the design fits the SAvages well…may still paint a decal or something on the side…who knows…
about the design…
the engins on the bottom are actually built into the “DroP’ ship…the thruster canisters on the side are clamped in before this thing is “launched”…
kinda like the dirty hunk of metal it is these drop ships are literaly pused out of the Ta`Gag main ship from the stratosphere…
the extra thrust canisters carry enough fuel for one “drop”…to slow the decent…and then the ships are just basicaly stripped of anything still usefull and left where ever they land as space junk…walls of the chamber are 2 3/4” thick Iron…ouchie… hot feet…
sure this going to be an epic. nice looking ships too. it’s nice to see real effort on your work, coz you got a lot of characters involved. a lot of killing…LOL. well, it’ll be fun to see the final battle scene ever! keep up Jeremy!
For a background element that’s extremely detailed! I kind of worry what kind of render times you’ll get… Hopefully it works out, but it proably will!
Cheers
