I was thinking of going somewhere with the idea of deep space exploration and a maiden voyage … Most likely a disastrous one…

Now I need to find the “do it in epic scope” button.

I’m currently thinking of doing the scene of The Finding of the Ilmatar. Ilmatar is the ship which encountered a disastrous ending while in it’s maiden voyage. It was the first ever interstellar ship that was especially made for deep space exploration.

The scene will be a shot after several hundreds… maybe thousands of years after that mysterious and sad voyage.

Ilmatar name comes from the Finnish Mythology “Kalevala” - Derived from Finnish ilma “air”. In Finnish mythology Ilmatar was a semi-androgynous goddess of the heavens … I thought it would suit

I’m still sketching how the Ilmatar will look, so what you see in this first sketch may change totally.
