Ok. This will be the first time I enter the 3D part of the CG talk challenge. I hope I´ll finish… Though I doubt it

So here´s my concept so far: (only text)

I was thinking sort of a titanic subject. The first passenger cruiser space-ship. A luxurious resort for all kind of wealthy people. And of course with all the advanced thechnology it´s 100% safe! Until they hit a meteor… Bang! And not enough rescue-shuttles. Have we learned nothing from history? And all that stuff…

I guess I´m not the first one to come up with this idea… so if someone think I stole your idea, well I didn´t but tell me anyway… it´s no fun to do something that someone else can do alot better

It is an interesting and compelling idea. I don’t think you’ve stolen it from anyone. At least not to my knowledge.

Good luck…

I was thinking of placing the camera inside the ship so that it could show some people… but then it´s so hard to actually see the ship and waht is going on, so I think I´ll have to skip that…

Back to the drawing board

I quite like the idea - could turn out to be an interesting image indeed.

Since you asked, the one thing that pops into my head when I read the story is the book “Starship Titanic” by Terry Jones based on an idea by Douglas Adams. They also made a game based on the book, or if it was the other way around… or possibly they made both simultaneously… http://www.starshiptitanic.com Anyway, it doesn’t feel like a problem to me, but I figured you might want to know about it at least.

Good luck with your challenge

Hey Ivars

Well Your doing 3D and Ive decided to do 2D this time rather than 3D. I might be setting myself up for a world of pain but hey it will be a challenge and it should be fun aswell.

Anyway I like the idea.

I actually like the idea of being in the ship looking out.

Or if you want to be able to see the whole ship maybe have the camera inside the “first” escape pod.

Anyway its a cool idea and as JamesMK said I dont think its a problem if some one has had a similar idea.
As long as you came up with it yourself and have your own take on the whole thing its cool.

Good luck with it.

Interesting perspective, but please don’t make this on a planet. You could really pull this off, if it was in space.
