Grand Space Opera 3D Entry: Gunaars Miezis

#18

thanks for the words of comfort guys!
And I think I finally got it… I can’t really explain what it is, but I got it, I can feel it!

#19

and here are the domed imitations.
So, this is some kind of zoo of the future, where there are imitations of all the benefits that each civlisation can bring!

#20

Hello Riga, here is Tallinn!
The Sucker Dude - 10 points!
:bounce:
I really like the concept. While everyone else are messing with apocalyptic disasters, there is someone who is planning an interstellar party/or zoo!
If U have original concept-then U are a half winner already
I remember another sucker-dude from spielbergs AI as well
Actually every entrance face might look like the representative of each civilization.
One huma face, one monkey face one alien face and so on!
But it means a really freaky modelling and texturing
Or maybe a huge spaceship which looks like a huge lenin/marx/engels statue??

#21

Space dome, parties? Cool!!!

This is really funny… and the “entrance” to your dome is great. Man, I’ll bookmark this one.

Stefano

#22

terre, taavi! yup, you got my idea correctly, there will be a different head for each civilisation, and inspiration for those entrances did came form Spielbergs A.I.!

Doublecrash: Thanks, I’ll try my best!

#23

did some modeling during the weekend, and here are the results.
This is the dome that will be put in the background, due to its low details. There will be more domes, each for every civilsation. And the focus will be put on the party civilisation… that I haven’t jet thought of.

#24

Really like your modeling. Very interesting design. One point, all the concept work seems to base the civilization on humans. Maybe introduce alternate physiologies in the architecture. Just a thought.

But looking good.

#25

Pagaidaam izskataas ljoti daudzsoloshi, man patiik. Cerams, ka pietiks pacietiibas pabeigt :]
Good luck!

#26

Not too much of a fan of the screaming heads, but the last models you made looked great.

#27

very nice modelling

#28

Cool modeling. But the idea of other civilisation is interesting…

#29

Wonderfully modelling there, very clean and detailed. Keep it up!

#30

Nice work.Clean and quite detailed.I think that for BG really detailed.I think the cables are to thick however,if I am understanding the idea well enough…The idea is interesting and has a good approach,it makes you think…Doing very nicely Gunaars…Keep at it.:arteest:

#31

Yes, the idea is definitely provocative indeed. It is about time that the ‘leeching element’ be used for good (parties) instead of eeeevviiiiilll.

#32

Very nice update - I agree about the cables as pointed out… making them thinner would make the structure look bigger indeed. Cool schtuff nevertheless.

#33

WOW! So many replies!

Uberman: Well, all of those concepts were just a warming up! I’ll make domes for different civilisations, with various shapes and sizes, but I decided to start modeling with the easyest parts, to slowly work my modeling skills up!

Criogen: Paldies, meeginaashu arii pabeigt! Tu piedalies?

Virtuoso: Yeah, I guess your right, but I’m still thiking about weather to use cables or virtual power lines [the ones with cool light effect on them, like lightening]

Neble, Centavrus, Kaajey, Andrei2k, Peter C., JamesMK: thanks, this really gives me the boost necesary to continue the modeling!

#34

Es jau kaadu pusgadu pie 3d pat pieskaaries neesmu :]

Nez, tagad vispaar atkal gribas atsaakt kaut ko dariit (pat maksi shoriit ieinstaleeju)

#35
